Hello from a new member! Hi, I'm Laurie Squire aka Mrs. Herb Squire.

The "Mrs." came about when we met at 710 WOR and found that we had a shared passion for radio. You know all about Herb; as for me...I was a producer at WOR (Jean Shepherd, Bernie Meltzer), wrote material for Bob & Ray and for Joe Franklin, and did some copywriting. And was very longtime (1976-2021) broadcast stage manager of the Met Opera. Engineering experience--I learned from the best (big smile) how to edit audiotape!

Welcome! What an impressive and wonderful resume. I'll bet there are interesting stories about the Met Opera broadcasts... and I hope you will tell us some of them!

Hi Larurie, welcome to the board. I remember going to the production room for the first time and there was reel to reel there. I went to start up and spaghetti went everywhere. The production manager at the time had the habit of loosening the spindles, the rest is censored for everyone's imaginations but, he confused twerking and twisting in his speach.🤣 I made it to a top ten market and Bucky Dormster, (not real name) ended up making master copies in recording studios somewhere in LA. 🤣 This obviously happened in the 80's.

So, thankful we have wonderful memories and look forward to hearing humor and/or advice or just a good comments to the things you will contribute. šŸ˜Ž
