Herald: Blake, Zito (WODS) want to save Weatherman Al's job

Nice! I hope that the support has some positive effect for Al. By all accounts I've heard, he's a heck of a nice (and regular) guy. We wish him the best.

There is only thing worse than losing your job. It's losing your job during the holidays. I know how that feels, all too well (been there, done that). Al Kaprelian, Channel 50's long-time weatherman is a fixture on New Hampshire TV. And yes.... he's got a lot of fans on this side of the border as well (including me). I hope there is some way to keep Al's forecasts on Channel 50 where they belong! But even then, I think he would do well here in Boston proper on either radio or TV. This man has quite a few battle scars during his tenure at Channel 50 (WNDS/WZMY). One that comes to mind is when the Global Shopping Network tried to buy the station back in the early 2000's. Virtually all employees were let go with very little notice. One of those to go was Al. Well after several months, "GSN" defaulted and thus the station was reverted back to the old owners. Gone was a very hokey home shopping dribble. Most WNDS staffers (including Al) returned. People were glad to see a truly local and Indy New Hampshire station back to where it belonged. Of course the economy suffered great since then and Channel 50 was no exception. Let's hope Al (and the other WZMY people who were let go) gets back on his feet and do what he does best whether it be at WZMY or maybe a Boston station! Hang in there Al!!!

Have him on either a BOSTON station of perhaps NECN.

WZMY is useless The analog signal NEVER had Stereo and the digital signal is weaker then low powered outlets.

Morning hosts at Christmas 103.3 launch drive to save job of Ch 50 weatherman (or would CBS hire him for ODS?)

I would think the people at Oldies would be more worried about their own job(s) after the Christmas music ends.
