"Last week, Finneran told Patrick on the air that the two of them should take “Howie Carr for a ride,” and “only two will come back.”

Howie: "“Real men don’t talk about putting people in trunks, they just do it."

The plot thickens...and 'RKO is probably loving this. They figure the controversy will boost ratings!
 
Howie claims he was a witness to a crime (Finneran's perjured during testimony) and this amounts to witness
intimidation.... yeah, could be stretching it but he may have a point--and part of the Felon's probation is that he not commit another crime. Like a threat...even in jest?

Also: Dan Kennedy's media nation blog reports Chris Lydon's Open Sore, er, Source show got a big grant.
Kennedy also praises Finneran's show as showing "promise"...

Howie has never shown compassion for another human being. I submit his referring to the killing of Darrell Lance Abbott, former guitarist for Pantera/Damageplan. On the day of his murder, he called it natural selection and referred to the man as "Dirtbag", a parody of his nickname. This was less than 12 hours after this innocent man, whose only crime was he was in a band that broke up and caused a crazed ex-marine to snap, was brutally murdered onstage in Columbus OH.

Howie then plays the victim card when it comes to receiving death threats.

He'd be wise to rent "Talk Radio" a few times....

But seriously, Finneran's comment was stupid, AND illegal-suggesting a murder of a crime witness, even if he was joking.....he made the statement.

Howie-regarding the Dirtbag/Dimebag comments...obviously, 100% ill-timed/crude/and just plain bad taste...but not illegal. Finneran's were.
 
Hell, Howie Carr was instrumental in the killing of Jerry Williams...it was not just "father time".
Bring on the handcuffs....
 
It must be ratings period time (I hear contests, etc.) so you can see one reason for this, etc. (But the _TV_
ratings period ended which is why the Ch. 25 promos with Maria Stephanos and David Wade, during Howie's
show, stopped)

Whenever I see the "Drink More Water" (slogan) ads for Aquafina I can't help but think of one Entercom
promotion that went awry...
 
Last week, the website universalhub.com ran a comment by Scott Allen Miller referring to the actual location of a J. J. Foley's pub. This indicates to me that Scott is still in the Boston area. Could it be that Entercom struck a deal with Miller that if he kept quiet about the Finneran hiring during Scott's last few weeks on WRKO, they'd pay him a stipend to hang around if the Finneran Forum didn't work out, clearing the way for Scott to return to WRKO in his old time slot?
 
the start of Howie's show won't be heard in Boston. Or Worcester. Right now they have an exciting
Red Sox exhibition game on! (WRKO and WCRN both carrying it). There's always online...

The letter to the judge is on WRKO's site. Someone just called and said "you (Howie) have been carving people up for years and now someone does the same to you. You can't take it." Howie replies that "it was a threat".

Granted, the comment from Finneran was done in jest...but .... Howie does have a point !!

Betcherassets he does! Tommy F's last "Heavy Dime" kept him out of the joint. Doubt anyone's gonna gin him up this time!

Hope Scott Alan Miller still has a cornah stool at Foley's - he's gotta be laughing his assets off at buffoon Finneran. I was just a metter of time. Finneran gets juked, S.A.M.'s in for a nice pay raise to come back, don'tcha think?? Like Priceline "name your own price, Scotto!!"

IMHO, the sainted Jerry Williams was long past "ready for the dog track" before the "scoundrel" Howie Carr replaced him. "The Governors" could have been a stand-alone show, sans Jerry, fer gawdsakes.

Don't think I've heard a Howie Carr "sex survey", and calls from desperate housewives riding the cornahs of their washer machines during spin cycle!!
