Here is a list of all the LFP Stations in Houston Area

There are three construction permits for LPFMs on 92.5 in Northeast Harris County, Baytown, and the City of South Houston. None on air yet. The translator shouldn't really disturb any of them, given its directional pattern.

There are actually three active on 99.7 if you include KLHG in Galveston. Two on 95.3, KTTF Tomball and KEPH Friendswood. Also two on 94.9, KRUT and KPFG.

BTW, KOER 101.5 only needs about $1,000 more in donations in order to go on the air, according to its website.

If you watch KOER it varies from 'just a few more donations' about a year ago to needing a huge amount of money and back again. I have seen their 'amount' change so radically so many times, I simply don't have faith in what the site says. If I recall at one point, I think they said they needed something like $200,000 or more. Even the donation amount for a 'brick' to build the station changed every few days. I really felt sorry for them when they tried crowd funding and got zero dollars. Seems it would be smarter to stick with one amount needed and then have tiers of giving that don't change. Something in my gut just has me thinking this station may not happen. It seems their location would put them on a leased tower and those big tower companies do not rent cheaply.

Which means there are no LPFM "stations" on 92.5. A construction permit isn't a station. In fact, unless they construct within the allotted time, it's moot.

None of the three may light up.

The KOER situation sounds fishy, with the constantly changing amounts and lack of transparency. $200,000? Really?

I wish these organizations would get their ducks in a row before applying for the license.
