Hickory's WHKY-TV to be sold; Long family retaining WHKY radio

Per whky.com:

Long Communications, L.L.C. has reached an agreement to sell the assets of WHKY-TV Channel 14 Hickory, North Carolina to Family Worship Center Church, Inc., a Louisiana non-profit corporation. The buyer, Family Worship Center Church, is a Louisiana-based Ministry headed by the Reverend Jimmy Swaggart.
The transaction is expected to close during second quarter 2023. Long Communications plans to retain all current employees while continuing to own and operate WHKY Radio (1290 AM & 102.3 FM) with future plans focusing on radio and on-line related media. The radio station will retain its legacy call letters WHKY, while the buyer plans to change the WHKY-TV station call sign. Any changes in operations and programming of the TV station will be announced at a later date.

Presumably WHKY Radio will continue to operate day power 24/7

Probably WHKY will become a flagship station for Jimmy Swaggart's SonLife Broadcasting Network, SBN. Christian talk shows and live worship services from the Family Worship Center. And Jimmy Swaggart gospel music videos. But it will be interesting to see what they do with all the subchannels.
