Paging David Sadof...

Let me just say that your show is tremendous. Like what has been said before, I have listened to you since the days of "Lunar Rotation" on The Buzz. One thing I'd like to ask, and it may be a silly question, but is there a chance that High Fidelity could be moved off of 97.5, once Cumulus' purchase of KRBE goes through? I think it would be a great show to put on KRBE once the sale is finalized, and would give High Fidelity the ability to broadcast static free and in STEREO. I know that the show doesn't fit the typical format of KRBE, but then again, it doesn't really fit on a news station either.<P ID="signature">______________

I like that idea.
It would be somewhat reminiscent of the days of the New Music Zone.

I am a huge fan of both the show and the TRUE alternative music played on David's show. I went to college in Lafayette, LA and had the pleasure of being friends with a gentleman by the name of Dave Hubbell (who I have unfortunately lost touch with in recent years) who ran an alternative music store and also hosted an alternative radio show in Lafayette. Dave always did his best to spotlight local artists when he could on his show through its various incarnations (Underground Lounge, The End of the World, Now Hear This, etc...) over the years. His show built the 311 (way before they were mainstream), Tori Amos, Smiths Cure, Sarah McLachlan, etc. audience in Lafayette and the surrounding area. I love it when a niche is filled so well that it becomes a part of the local "scene" even for those who aren't fans of the genre. I think David's show on KFNC is possibly one of those things.

Nikki Reyes (who recently joined KFNC) also used to do a show in New Orleans called the Louisiana Jukebox. I remember hearing the show every now and then and thinking that is what good radio was supposed to do for me... allow me to appreciate music I didn't normally care for in large doses. I would love to see Nikki (in her spare time...ha!) or someone do a similar specialty show here focusing on some local/Texas acts but with a looser format than the Buzz's local show. I know people rip on 97.5/103.7 for their signal problems and KIOL's playlist (which I agree is sorely lacking), but in David and Nikki they have two really great talents (and not in any way discounting the others at Cumulus Houston).

That would be nice.
Wonderful idea.
A lot of us miss the new music exposure.
Even if it's just new to our ears!

I've heard music on Fred that goes beyond Dave's closet. its almost that hidden shoebox of Hot Wheels.

Keep It Up David! I've been listening since those early shows on KLOL. I think my musical tastes and library developed from your shows.

Thank you for the compliments. I'm more than happy to do my
show anywhere they'll have me. I'll do it from a bowling
alley if there's an audience there (lol).

I'm sure I have my share of shoeboxes in the back of my
closet as well. There's just so much stuff in there,
it may be a while before I can get to them! ;)

Thanks.
