Hip Hop may not be over, but B96 isn't relying on it anymore

Dance is getting some respect at B96. With Cascada's "Everytime We Touch" and "Miracle" already being play on B, they have also added De Lorean "Push It"

I heard that too yesterday. They are playing more dance with this hip hop monikor than they did at the end of the Chicago Dance Beat and most of the New Killer Bee monikor. I think I heard 2 dance songs within a half an hour. Also, Natasha Beddingfield is in heavy rotation....Weird...... No wonder why they are losing ratings. Their audience is utterly confused with their presentation.

I think they are playing with the format to see what fits. People have been begging B96 to play dance for so long, maybe they will start adding more and more.

I think before the year is over, B96 will eliminate the "hip-hop" portion of its slogan and it will just be, "Chicago's Hits." Like it was in the early 90's. Everything old can be new again. Also, they need to retool themselves quickly because KISS just passed them in the latest ratings book.

Uh, Kiss hasn't passed anybody, B96 fell behind, the house cleaning at Kiss was due to the fact that in five years they haven't grown the station AT ALL, billing is still 7 million behind where it was five years ago. Only in radio today could you be considered a winner by going nowhere, it's a testament to the complete boobery at B96. Kiss's housecleaning is an acknowledgement that they've done nothing to achieve this mark.

I guess if you want to look at it that way, you can. But you can look at the latest ratings and see for yourself. Besides, whatever has gone on at Kiss still doesn't take away from the fact that B96 hasn't really done anything to try to get back to their top five status.
