I give up. What's an "EOE Employer"?

And why are you using your cousin's email address to post this ad?

(This message will, of course, be deleted by the moderator within ten minutes...)

What AM do they own??

The bigger question is: what do people in Oregon (or Firebaugh, or Seattle) care about KYA? Verne is obsessed about recreating the station in all these markets that don't care about a legendary SAN FRANCISCO station that has been gone for 25 years.

I asked him before why he doesn't do classic KYNO or K-MAKe in Fresno, or KJR in Seattle, but it makes no difference. It has to be KYA or nothing!

Verne , since your so into KYA, did you, being the "BIG" radio magnate you are, attend the lunch for "Hap Harper"? Lets see Verne, hap had a phrase he always used, lets see if you remember it, He said he was "The----- in the sky! Kya had another traffic guy Verne, from KYA, he flew his own plane out of Concords Buchannan Airfield , Who was he? a bay Area guy like you should know everything about KYA! I will bet the farm you didnt attend the lunch Tuesday! Kenny in Concord

Wow I can't believe that people like David Jackson Bay area radio museum would not support an oldies station, Regardless of the call lettersThese three FMs will cover the bulk of I-5 in Cal with 50's and 60's oldies. While (outside of kabx Merced) no one plays oldies in those markets anymore why wouldn't you bury the hatch between you and my cousin David and welcome an oldies station. Unlike other formats that are running a satelite format that plays about 150 oldies over and over our format is live,, we have a library of over 7000 oldies all billboard 100 chart songs all four stations will run from one master studio and will carry Metro traffic and CNN news. We are dedicated to the Oldies format, and as we get this going we will probably add some more stations that are not ours but want to run our programming. We have admitted that back in 2005 when we launched KYA on the internet that we made some big mistakes, we have since sold the internet station and while we are being paid to run the computers etc and for our copywrited material no longer have ownership of the internet KYA.
We are focusing now on getting all of our FM's and our new AM on this format this is kicking off June 1, 2007. We are getting totally away from the focus on air talent that uses names that are " Stage Names" we are currently searching for some talent from the old days and are talking with several, and prior to our launch on June 1, we will have a line up that will include some real talent in am drive and afternoon drive.
David I ask that you support and report accurately on our efforts just as you have done for Harry Pappas's stations and others.

One more thing anyone interested in a great oldies format where you can use YOUR TALENT and have free regin to be yourself and not have to worry about the backstabbing petty BS that you find in many radio station , you will find that CVES Inc is a great place to work and while being human we sometimes make mistakes but we correct them and move forward.
We belive the OLdies is alive!!!!!! and the format can survive and make big $$$

Verne tune into Richbroradio.com, this guy knows music, maybe you could improve your little KYA, Just remember Verne , or whoever you are the bay Area lost KYA in 1983, there will never be another one, You cant re create the past, give up!! Kenny in Concord

Dear Mr XM Alias Kenny from Concord: You are so into yourself, who cares about who flew what plane , let the BM and others including the kyaradio sights report history.
We are all about bringing back 50-60's radio, the good old days of Radio but doing it now, we are talking with several names you would know who have felt that our idea is a winner, no it's not for everyone but is totally for the Oldies listner. I applaude KOMY's owners and others that are doing this format, and no it's not about me or my cousin, it's about the music and the great stations like KYA KEWB KSAN KFRC KROY and others that brought great talent to the bay, now while we are a well funded corporation we are moving forward to have fun with this format and programming.
What we tell everyone is if you want to bad mouth myself as the CEO or my format or our Employees just keep it to yourself and find another format or station to pick apart, none of us are perfect look at sirius and xm , look at the cbs group or cc today they all have problems. We on the other hand are a very small 4 station cluster and growing only by the grace of god and great listners and advertisers that like and support our effort.

Anyone wishing to discuss my stations or business ventures can set up a meeting with me and my staff at NAB on Monday Apr 16 -17.

Kenny you still don't get it while Richbroradio is a fine format it is childish in its delivery and sounds like a garge operation. while I applaude the music the rest of the programming is very amateur

So what you are saying is to not criticize you, but go ahead and criticize others. Got it!

Verne your well funded as you posted, well put some talent on your Oldies Stations, why not add Norm N. Nite, voice track him, You have such a "Incredible Music Library" why not add Norm N Nite? Voice track him! Oh by the way, can you replace your current VO guy, We here in the bay Area prefer Bobby Ocean! He can really put some energy into a station that "needs it" Get your 3 KYAs up and running, I will tune in next time Im down in CV, and listen till it fades out! Go to the Google Search and type in Bobby Ocean, get going Verne Kenny in Concord

Kenny : I know Ocean but he has a conflict hes on a low riders mega 97.9 in Fresno which is primarly going to the hispanic market. Our voice over guy with the great voice Ed will remain the Voice of KYA (for Id's Seperators Logos Etc) but Norm who I have heard but don't know would be great except I would have to voice trac him. Might be great to have him on 6p-12m. Candy has given us the rights to run her tapes of her original show in sf . We will probably slot those in on Sunday nights.
And although just for their personal confidentiality I won't revieal names I have got several emails from former bay area bossjocks. I will email Norm today Thx

I say let's give Verne a chance, what do we have to loose have you listened to radio now a days? I have to give him credit anyone who goe's to this extreme has got to be the biggest b.s.er or dedicated. By the way Verne Im the one with the KYA license plates on my T-Bird (I guess Im nuts too) but I say to evryone give this project a chance then judge.

Personalized KYA Plates, wow! I would be proud to display those, are they the Blue backing and yellow letters? Careful I bet Tall Tom Campbell , or The Emperor Gene Nelson would like those!Kenny in Concord raised on KYA since 1962!!!

The "Emperor" now resides in Hawaii so those plates wouldn't work for him and "Motor mouth" Tom who knows. By the way it's the arts plates with the palm trees and the sunset on them. I can't tell you how people stop me (people over 40) that remembers this great station and then in traffic do the the Steven Mathew David's 6400 Mission top of the hill Daily City radio spot or the Weismans furniture "This is your uncle Sal saying noth'in but thanks", while I wait for the geen light...ahhhh the good ol days of radio.

Looks like not everyone reads Ben Fong Torres in the Chronicle. He had an item last week to the effect that Gene Nelson has moved back to San Francisco.

Gene Nelson is back in San Francisco -- Ben Fong-Torres' Radio Waves column about the Emperor is online at:

I think that "Uncle Sal" was actually "Uncle Sol Weisman."
