Exposing the Government S.N.A.F.U. Public schools all let out at the same time. 10s of thousands of kids and workers clugging the highways. Impossible to plow. Matt Allen and P.D. Paul Giammarco on WPRO, stay on air til 11pm. The best coverage of a local disaster I can ever remember. As of 10 30 lines are JAMMED.

How I would love PRO to be LOCAL up until 9 or 10 pm!!

WPRO's coverage shows how important Talk Radio is. How important Local Talk is! Walter.

I can imagine, tip line was ringing off the hook all afternoon too, which is awesome, because that can be a tremendous help.

I agree. This is what talk radio should be. It almost makes me wish there were a major storm every day! Sometimes good things come out of bad situations. Back in 1988 The Writers strike caused FOX Television to create a couple of little programs called.... "COPS" and "AMERICAS MOST WANTED". If it were not for that strike we would have never had those two wildly successful programs today which are now in their 20th year.

So perhaps if WPRO gets enough positive feedback about tonight, than maybe they will try local talk in the evening. It sounds to me as if they hit upon something good tonight. Now the other question that needs to be answered is... Are we only enjoying the programming tonight because it's LOCAL (or) are we just enjoying the chemistry between Matt and Paul? Personally I think it's a combination of both. Maybe this is a sign that WPRO should extend Matt's show until 10 PM each night and then air Savage on tape delay from 10 PM to 1:00 AM. This works out perfect since "COAST TO COAST" starts at 1:00 AM. I don't know how anyone else feels about that schedule. But in my head I absolutely freaking love it! Definitely something I think WPRO should consider.

I was stuck on 195 west. FOR 4 HOURS. I'll never forget it. Just to say, I wish Jon Depetro would stop the Blame Game. No One could have done anything. The gridlock was Already there , when the snow started! There was No Way to plow.

I was wondering if Wpro could get the Ratings for just last night? Does Arbitron do that?

I want to thank Matt Allen and Paul Giammarco for keeping me Sane ! They made me know I was not alone. I must have tried to call them 50 times, if I tried once! The hosts were taking around 30 calls an hour. I listened right up until 11 . I got home at 9 14 pm.

The gridlock wasn't any one person's fault. Everyone just tried to leave at the exact same time. You can't plow the road when traffic is at a standstill. The only solution would be to install heaters underneath the pavement. Good Luck with that.

Couldn't agree more about JD. I was listening this am while digging out the car and turned over to EEI because I was tired of the tone of his accusations. He had the State Trooper Lt who came on on the defensive right from the get go. Buddy has the right approach, being positive; but what should have been done....very good show, talk w/ Gen Centraccio was very good. Also, from what I heard, JD was throwing puffballs to the current mayor when he had him on this morning

The blame game is where this goes now, like it or not. Granted, the storm started much earlier than expected(up to 3 hours early, depending on who's whether report you were listening too), BUT roads should have been pretreated in the morning, salting everything that could be salted. On my way in(or maybe it was later than that), I heard a caller tell Matt that he was a private contractor working for the state, and they wouldn't let them fill up with salt to treat the roads. Blame is the name of the game today, and probably monday as well, depending on the State's response to the weekend storm thats supposed to hit.

THE STATE WAS TOTALLY UNPREPARED NO MATTER HOW YOU LOOK AT IT!!like matty and all the other hosts were saying last night and today its not like this has never happened before on an avrage we were talking 6 inches of snow........i think as a tax payer in this god forsakin state.... the DOT director should be fired!!! no questions asked.... totall incompitance on his part... cause havin friends working for dot.... i can tell you they were told not to pre treat the road or anything....... and providence.... thats another story.... im just sittin here wornding how the superentendant of schools still has a job here.... and the mayor should be ashamed of him self..... but back on topic.... WPRO did a fantastic job last night.... props to managmant over on the trail

Hey guys, great comments. This was really good radio. What a great service WPRO provided.
Kind of dissappointed at the Blame Game they've been doing ever since. My sister was on 95 in Pawt. at 10 30 that morning BEFORE the storm hit. She said cars were already bumper to bumper before it was snowing. Theres too many of us on the road. I don't think anything can be done. Get ready for more of this, if Mother Nature so decides. :'(
