My History of WGPA Video is now available online:

The video covers some of the highlights of the stations history and features interviews from some former and current employees and management. I hope you will take a few minutes and watch this video as it chronicles the history of this small, local radio station. Up until this time, there has been no real effort to put all of this information together in one place so I hope this is a useful resource for those who are interested.

I did this project on WGPA because I have a real interest in the history of radio not to mention local Lehigh Valley history as well. I realize that this project could be done for many of the other LV radio stations as well... and perhaps one day I will do that. And finally to cure my own curiosities about the station I have worked for almost 11 years now. (Not to mention also because Jolly Joe gave me a half million dollar budget to cover the production costs... OK, the last part was a joke but the my first reasons were true.)

Finally, I posted this here for all my fellow radio fans and professionals who are interested in local radio, and I wish to express my respect and gratitude to all of you who still care about radio in 2010.

Thank You,
Jarret Brown

VERY IMPRESSIVE!!!!! got to learn a few things and the history of the station and for a station employee the presentation was for the most part unbiased.............channel 39 couldn't have done a better job putting together all of the video for this and it was a wonderful history lesson about Bethlehem and WGPA's part in it.................nice job, 'vinnie'........

I would really love to use some of those old pic of Chadwick and the old station for my new book on Lehigh Valley Radio for Arcadia's Image of America series

As someone who grew up in the Lehigh Valley, my memories of WGPA AM & FM:

1. Bob Wolken. Great personality for this station and wasn't afraid to give his musical opinions. I remember when Barbara Streisand released Stoney End and Bob played it. After it was over, he said something to the effect that he didn't like the "rockin' direction of this song" and immediately played "People."

2. Mutual News-I remember listening to coverage of the space landing in 69 on this station.

3. Notre Dame Football on WGPA AM and Lehigh Football on WGPA FM

4. The Beautiful music programming on WGPA-FM didn't begin until noon each day. Sundays were a straight simulcast all day
