Hmmm...Now we have a WKQC and a WHQC in Charlotte

Allaccess is reporting today that Clear Channel has picked up some new call letters for their station formerly known as WIBT at 96.1.

Kind of wonder what that's all about. Why call letters so similar to CBS's K-104.7?

Reckon you will have to speculate on this for just a little while!! HMMMMMM BIGAPE!

96.1 has a habit of having calls that are similar to other stations. WIBT and now WHQC.

Channel961 is gaining some momentum. Can't count them out anymore.
Interesting calls.

I'm thinking HC for Channel and QC for Queen City.

Past couple of days they're still ID'ing as WIBT. Does this not take effect until Sept? Radio-Locator already has it listed as WHQC.

So does Wikipedia, and whoever changed it didn't do a lot of the necessary work that goes along with such a move. That task was left to me.

I'm concerned about WKQC. I heard "I Gotta Feeling" on Saturday night. That was followed by "Genie in a Bottle", which by itself would be nothing to be concerned about. But both together? This station has been bad about getting loud at night. And "Lite" does an 80s show which has been known to include "*** on Feel the Noize". Actually, WFAE is jazz at that time, so I guess one can get "lite" music on a Saturday evening.

I got the sticker for my license plate. I have to say my experience at the DMV was nothing but positive, considering the number of people there when it opened at 9:00. They had four people working there and it took very little time for me to be served, and the clerk was so nice.

Now, if only I hadn't had to listen to "Heaven" by Bryan Adams, which is still annoying even though it was "soft" back in the days when AC was actually soft, followed by some Britney Spears type garbage. I think the volume could have been a little lower.

People still go to DMV offices? I've been renewing online for years.
I hate doing stuff online. Of course, now that I've got my own computer one of the major objections is removed. But I only go to select sites here and it's too hard to remember all the stuff I need to do at libraries. I'm still supporting the post office despite what I read in the actual newspaper last week.

No, wait, it was country I had a problem with last week.
