Hollywood Squares Airchecks This includes the Peter Marshall, John Davidson and Tom Bergeron Editions

Interestingly when Peter Marshall did his edition of Hollywood Squares it was labeled both Daytime and Syndicated editions when that show came out. The airchecks indicated that ABC Owned affiliates like WLS and WABC got the syndicated edition of Hollywood Squares while NBC Network got the Daytime edition of the Peter Marshall version of Hollywood Squares from 1966-1981.

When the John Davidson/Shadoe Stevens edition of Hollywood Squares came out from 1986-1989 it was all syndicated and stations like WABC-TV, KGO-TV, WISH-TV and WTAE Pittsburgh, were some of the stations that got that edition of the show. Also this edition of Hollywood Squares aired as reruns on USA Network in the early 1990's.

Then we go to the most recent edition of the show prior to the reboot and in this one its Whoopi Goldberg and Tom Bergeron. This is when the show changed production companies from Orion to Sony and CBS. This edition was syndicated to CBS affiliates like KPIX, WCBS and KCBS in this edition from 1998-2004. In this edition Tom Bergeron started to get wider recognition and the show faded away as soon as Tom Bergeron got other hosting roles like America's Funniest Videos and Dancing with the Stars.

Note Paramount has aired variations of Hollywood Squares under the Hip-Hop Squares, Nashville Squares and Celebrity Squares name for their cable outlets VH1, CMT and MTV between the last Hollywood Squares Episode and the 2025 reboot with Drew Barrymore for CBS and Paramount+.
