Homeless man with an awesome radio voice - Someone get him a gig!

Now there is somebody of quality who would appreciate the microphone, and hopefully a station that will appreciate him in return rather than some of the junk that is out there hiring on the cheap and then keeping it cheap, because it's cheaper to keeper.

Did it ever occur to anyone that this is a stunt. And sooner or later someone will reveal this guy's true identity and the fact that he has been doing radio or voice work.

This would be stunt of the day, if not for the station in Phoenix making an "offer" to Bristol Palin, whose radio talent is exceeded only by her dancing talent.

And then there are the news stories on every network and in the papers. Just sayin' is all. Be happy for the guy already!

Hoping this is true and not fixed. He does have a wonderful voice. He could be getting a second chance, he cleaned up his act :) I believe, things happen for a reason, we are not happy about everything and I think this guy deserves the chance. I hope he stays clean and is happy and able to make something of his life, One great thing, to see his mom again. :) I heard he got a job, hopfully it will work out and he does not go back to drugs and booze again.

MattParker i think you very bitter hope your not and ... you listen to too much howard stern because he said the same thing the other day. I'm happy for this guy , and hope he does well also

Stunt or not, he's got a great voice.

The variety of people interviewing him and offering him jobs makes me think "not a stunt". The guy who shot the video does sound like he's in radio or TV as well, though.

Since I don't subscribe Sirius/XM, I don't listen to Howard. Apparently you do. He is one of the most successful radio personalities ever. He grew up in the business as the son of a broadcast engineer and he has spent his whole adultlife in the business. If somebody with that background smells a put-up job, maybe you should consider the possibility.

It's not just the "too-good-to-be-true" aspects of this story that make me suspicious. Nor the fact that he has a naturally good voice. The way he speaks suggest he's had professional training as an announcer.

I'd also suggest you consider paying attention in your high school English class (or if you're not in school, investing in English 2600).

Matt Parker why you sound so upset for? lol Number 1 I use to have XM like two years ago. I didn't listen to Howard because I'm more of a urban morning show type of listener. I respect Howard for the empire he built in the pass years he have been in radio. Number 2 i heard Howard comment on inside edition early today because they ask Ted Williams how did he felt about Howard's comment. Number 3 obviously you understood what i was saying, and yes i completed High School. As for saying he was prep as an announcer yea i believe that since he use to be a radio disc jockey. P.S. Just Because he's been homeless for years now doesn't mean he lost his love, and craft for radio.

Is Howard still doing his "homeless game" on his SiriusXM show? I wonder how they would treat Teddy Pipes Game if he were a contestant...

Did someone find old airchecks from him already? He says that he was in radio in the 80's but which station was it?

interesting, but not spectacular...I mean,I can do that!..nonetheless, even if it is a stunt, hopefully he'll get work..

Reality check: great pipes are a dime a dozen. Just ask all the voice talents out of work or those who have wisely moved on to greener pastures. While it's a nice story that this down-on-his-luck guy is getting noticed, he's eventually going to have to acquire some marketable skills in order to re-enter the job market.

A couple of them in Columbus, including WVKO - which was most recently a progressive talk station. I think they went dark, believe it or not...

So what's the over/under of days until some network offers him his own reality show? I've got four days.

He stayed clean and sober during his years of homelessness; nevertheless, I have heard the whole "recovery" thing described as a disease for which you have to always look over your shoulder to make sure the monster isn't approaching. Kind of like cancer in remission.

Think hours, days when a network decide to make a reallifeshow with him. Perfect story to follow.
