Homer goes to WAUK but stays on WISN

According Tim Cuprisin of the Journal-Sentinel, Steve "The Homer" True will continue to do the Marquette University basketball games on WISN when he moves over to WAUK.

I would think that the last thing WAUK wants is to continue to have Homer identified with WISN.

Isn't Homer the voice of Marquette basketball?<P ID="signature">______________

Homer is employed by Marquette to call the games. WISN has an agreement to originate the broadcasts.

But, by the same token, if you were in WISN's shoes, would you really want a guy, who just left your station to go work for a chief competitor, to even crack the mic on your frequency at all? I mean, he's WAUK's guy now, but yet WISN is forced to use its airways to in essence promote him for 30 nights a year. If I were WISN I would ask Marquette to offer up a new pbp man.

I would think WAUK would enjoy the free bang on WISN. Karmizen should ask Homer to make sure he mentions his new show a lot on the Marquette broadcasts. In fact, there's a chance if WAUK promotes Homer correctly, that it will get credit in some diaries for the Marquette games now.

I understand your point, though, that if WAUK doesn't promote Homer correctly, then WISN could get those diary mentions during Homer's actual show when in fact he is on WAUK.

Should be interesting.

MU likes him for some reason... He tried to leave last year, iirc, and Bill Coords basically talked him into coming back.

Now, if they want a suggestion on who to replace Homer with, should the need arise, all they need to do is call me. I know a guy who's fit for the job!
