His name is Mike Pace (sp?) and PowerBALL is TWICE a week (Wednesday and Saturday). Unless he's on the road, he oversees those drawings from a studio in West Des Moines, IA.
 
About three or four years ago I used to see a Powerball
game show on Saturday nights on the ABC affiliate in
Florence/Myrtle Beach, SC. They had contestants from
the different states that had Powerball. I think the show
was called "Powerball Instant Millionaire" and Todd Newton
was the host. If I'm right, then I know he'd be the best choice
to replace Bob Barker.
 
You're half right. Todd did host the later version of that. Bob Eubanks was the original host when it started as "PowerBALL: The Game Show". It was carried here in Connecticut by WTXX-TV (CW) channel 20 of Waterbury/Hartford. The connection? They are the "sister" station of WTIC-TV (FOX) channel 61 of Hartford. WTIC-TV has carried Connecticut Lottery drawings since 1997.
