Hotel Cable Lineup - Country Inn & Suites in Nashville, TN (8/14/2010)

I'm staying at the Country Inn & Suites on Donelson Pke in Nashville's east end, next to Interstate 40. To my surprise, the room has a 32" Sanyo LCD HDTV with the TVs actual remote control and not a LodgeNet hookup! I was able to do a digital cable rescan and adjust the picture shape properly to where the locals and TBS show up in HD when available...in their proper aspect ratio (4:3 or 16:9 HD). Finally! This has got to be a hotel first! Here's what I got with the QAM tuner so far:

2-1 WKRN-TV (ABC) channel 2 Nashville
4-1 WSMV-TV (NBC) channel 4 Nashville
5-1 WTVF-TV (CBS) channel 5 Nashville
6-1 WZTV-TV (FOX) channel 17 Nashville
8-1 WNPT-TV (PBS) channel 8 Nashville
14-1 WUXP-TV (MY) channel 30 Nashvlle
15-1 WPGD-TV (TBN) channel 50 Hendersonville
17-1 WNPX-TV (ION) channel 28 Cookeville
18-1 WNAB-TV (CW) channel 58 Nashville
18-2 SportsSouth
21-1 WHTN-TV (CTN) channel 39 Murfreesboro
22-1 WJFB-TV (IND) channel 66 Lebanon
55-2 Color Bars
55-3 Pay-Per-View info boxes in corners on black screen
62-7 Style
62-8 GSN
62-9 Hallmark Channel
63-2 TBS [in HD]
80-1 HSN
80-2 C-Span 2
80-3 WGN America
80-4 C-Span
81-1 Blank screen [with signal]
83-2 Oxygen
83-3 G4
83-4 Shop NBC
86-4 Nashville Wx Channel [weather service operated by WKRN-TV]
86-5 ?
87-3 Telefutura
89-12 Telemundo
114-12 C-Span 3
116 About 3 dozen Music Choice channels [116-1, 116-2, etc.]
117-1 TV 3 [looked like public access]
117-2 ARTS
117-3 Access
117-4 ?
202-1 WKRN SD simulcast
204-1 WSMV SD simulcast
205-1 WTVF SD simulcast
206-1 WZTV SD simulcast
208-1 WNPT SD simulcast
214-1 WUXP SD simulcast
218-1 WNAB SD simulcast

There's also an awful looking analog lineup which I could get to later. As for the TV and remote, I have a 26" Sanyo LCD HDTV at home which is identical to this TV but with a smaller screen.

(and broadcast OTA on channel 2.2)

89-12 Telemundo

(and broadcast OTA on channel 4.2, there's not much local content besides advertising)

117-1 TV 3 [looked like public access]

This is the city government channel. City Council meetings etc..

Two years ago I spent a night in Knoxville, at a place right under Sharp's Ridge. The room had a 27" TV (CRT) with an ATSC tuner. It was attached to cable, and the channel lineup card only showed the analog cable channels. But when the TV was installed, apparently it scanned both analog cable *and OTA DTV*. So there were two channel 6's -- WATE on analog cable, and 6.1 WATE-DT. And all the rest. Obviously they looked a LOT better OTA!

...... Sorry about the duplicate... my Internet connection went dumb while trying to submit & it looked like it didn't get submitted...

Another hotel first: No CNN or ESPN (not to mention the 4 ESPN channels available at most hotels)--basically no news stations whatsoever (unless you can consider C-Span a news channel)?!

CNN, MSNBC and ESPN are there on the terrible-looking analog band, which I could always get to later. I wasn't sure about Fox "News" Channel, but I can check. I do the same thing with my Sanyo TV at home. I always leave it on the digital band.
