iHeart: 21.4

Audacy: 16.2

Univision: 8.3

Hope Media Group: 6.7

Estrella: 6.0

Nice showing for The Eagle and Magic. Urban One in the driver’s seat.

El Norte once again proves that a rimshot can do well with the proper format. And they are virtually tied with Que Buena.

Country Legends with a typical 2.0 in its final full book.

Has VCY been on the phone with David Gow about 97.5? How KFNC keeps going with such horrible numbers is a continuing mystery...our new favorite dumpster fire.

Let's take a look at some of the more attractive selling points of KFNC. Somewhat vertical tower? Check. Also unlit (so I hear)? Check. Hasn't done jack squat in making any owner a damn dime since it was Beaumont's "KD 97"? Check. Comes with an even worse AM sister facility? Check. Lost its on frequency booster in hopes of helping fill in glaring coverage holes which didn't work out? Check. Tossed aside by Cumulus? Check. Rejected by EMF? Check.

Check, please. It won't do much good to beat a drum for 97.5. Even VCY would have to get it on the cheap, and I mean really cheap, to acquire that dog.

As evidenced by the now defunct Legends, KFNC could pull a near 2 share if they flipped to Classic Country, even running jockless as a jukebox. If they actually fixed and turned on an HD signal they could feed their Houston translator to keep the sports programming. Something tells me this is a tax write off. If the tower is in bad a shape as it's stated, they could colocate with KHJK with minimal short spacing issues if they drop to 1800ish feet HAAT.

I'm not so sure.

Of the eastern rimshots, this signal is the worst. It's particularly bad during tropo season when the co-channel station in Corpus Christi blasts in on top of it. It gets taken out regularly by KWTX Waco as well.

As for the translator being fed by the HD2, the only way that could work is if the translator owner allows them to use the translator for free, which seems unlikely, but I guess stranger things have happened. Most of the 92.5 translator's signal lies outside KFNC's 60 dBu contour, which makes it a non-fill-in translator.

It also means the only legal way the 92.5 translator could be fed is by receiving KFNC over the air.

What in the world is happening to Unvision .. KLTN being beaten in multiple-day parts again and even in San Antonio the 92.9 getting beat by a translator that barely covers the market.

All these boring talk shows all day. I miss the old Estereo Latino days. (Yes Estereo has no meaning anymore and all that)

But I’m talking about the old programming.

why did cox media sell their Houston stations to Urban One. And Do you see Cox selling their Atlanta stations

Not to be glib, but every station has its price.

Every business I have worked for has had offers to buy all or parts of the business.

Sometimes the offer is enough that the boss says, yeah, I'll take your money and we get a new boss.

Sometimes the offer isn't high enough to make the boss want to part with it, so they turn it down.
