Houston, TX - need archivists to help preserve 3000 hours of rare reels

A friend of mine in Houston, Texas has one of the largest collections of
unscoped radio airchecks from the 50s through late 70s in the world and needs a
trustworthy dedicated radio fan, aircheck collector, radio enthusiast, music, jingle etc.
lover to help him to convection oven bake or otherwise preserve
his old and rare reels of audio tape and copy them to CDs.

He's been legally blind since birth and injured himself jumping up and down at a
nightclub in Houston doing live DJ entertainment so he needs help with this.

He figures it's mostly a labor of love but is also considering the possibility of
obtaining the proper license and creating an internet website to allow reasonably-priced
subscriptions to an on-demand aircheck listening site.

Please help preserve this rare and mostly un-traded collection of airchecks,
jingles and other recordings. Once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!

Please contact Dan Dapianoman at Real Music Radio in Hilo, Hawaii
at 808-217-9058 ; I very much prefer telephone calls to e-mails or
board messages and have flat-rate telephone service so I can call you back without expense.
PLEASE note that Hawai'i is 3 hours EARLIER (not later!!) than California time,
so do not call early! Best times are from 11 A.M. to 10 P.M. Hawaii Standard Time
(we do not have daylight savings time here).

Step 1 in this project is completed, with the ability now to dub 4 track reels to 2 separate DVD recorders.

Others have made agreements to process to CDs and hopefully get to a server online someday.

It make take some time to get accustomed to the interface, but made 2 good L R mono dubs simultaneously Jan 12.

Anyone wishing to contribute even small amounts of money to this cause would be appreciated, and I can attest, find it worthwhile.
I'm sure Dan in the previous post would direct any communcations if someone feels they can help in monetary or any other way.
These recordings really do need to be preserved. Many are of very high quality.

No one asked me to ask for money to help him, nor do I even know if he'd accept it.
After helping him in his task I find it a reasonable suggestion.
