The Infinity station in Buffalo (92.9-WBUF) actually went from Hot Talk to "Jack" about a month ago after unsuccessful stints in the mainstream rock, rhythmic oldies, "Alice", Smooth Jazz, and Hot AC formats over the past decade. That being said they still air Howard Stern in the mornings even after themove to "Jack" and it could easily happen in Pittsburgh too if Infinity so desires.

WWSW-AM pretty much did that in the late '70s when they made a dumb flip to "Double Country." The format died quickly and they returned to the MOR/AC type programming they were doing before the switch.

Thanks for the correction. I'm sure they're jockless the rest of the day in Buffalo, and when Howard leaves there won't be a new morning show.<P ID="signature">______________

I can't speak for the Pittsburgh contract, but in Buffalo, WBUF flipped to JACK-FM but kept Howard Stern on in morning drive. Format changes where Howard has been retained have also happened in Fresno (where it's Spanish the rest of the day!), Austin, and Houston. Based on that, it seems entirely possible that a Howard/JACK-FM combo could happen on 93.7.<P ID="signature">______________
