No kidding. If you want to talk about skills on the mic, it's a miracle this guy ever got a show on a 5,000 watt station, let alone where he is now. The guy literally can't go two sentences without stumbling on something. That's why I say Boortz has done more with less than anyone I can think of and he has to know he got lucky as hell. This also explains how his misplaced braggadocio creeps in every once in a while--- at times he's still the kid who got picked on in high school and got picked last for the pick up games. Oh, and he can't talk.

I still remember the old TV ads for WRNG encouraging people to call in. "WRiNG Ring Radio. Atlanta's Talk King. Deal yourself in!"

I moved to Fla. in '68 right before Boortz, but I remember living in a boarding house on 14th St. (long since gone), and the lady that ran the place (long since gone) had her radio on WRNG/680 (licensed to N. Atlanta) all the time. It was a novelty then and kind of addictive.
Was their slogan really "Atlanta'a Talk King" (like the end of one word being the same as the beginning of the next word)? I bet its announcers LOVED to say that.![]()
