HOW MANY AAA (ADULT ALBUM) STATIONS IN SANTA FE AND NM?

How many AAA stations (Adult Album Alternative) are there in Santa Fe, New Mexico (and, in NM in general)?

Reason: An AAA station just went Bankrupt in Flagstaff. Very sorry to hear this, perhaps the reason is the lack of Upscale, Artsy, "Bohemian" listeners in Flagstaff compared to Santa Fe. The two markets are very identical in many respects. So if AAA is making it in Santa Fe, it would be good to find out possible reasons why it succeeds in Santa Fe.

Hey KFNNradioFan,

well, we have what used to be a "solid" triple a in Santa Fe but, thru the years, its lost its luster. After a few ownership changes, it just sounds tired, both musically and staff wise. After its last purchase, it became part of a cluster that, as a whole, could be so much more, but is programmed poorly. kbac, the triple-a, is all over the map playing so much unrecognizable music (old and new) from so many genres its hard to listen to (oh, and did I mention the signal here in town makes its harder). the second signal seems to be a classic rock/triple a "lifestyle" experiment that needs to have the plug pulled on. the odd thing is, the second signal steals music that SHOULD be kbac's bread and butter (think you would protect the heritage). the third signal is just a painful reinvention of smooth jazz. hard to say if any of this is "making it" as the owners dont show up in arbitron but, historically, kbac has done all right. then again, they were a much more pure triple a station back in their earlier incarnations (and a stand alone). maybe the answer is that they now have the luxury of being propped up by other signals in the building....?
