How Many Classic TV Subchannels Are in Your Market?

In Cleveland:

Antenna - WJW 8.2 (Fox affiliate)
MeTV - WOIO 19.2 (CBS affiliate)
Bounce - WUAB 43.2 (MyNetwork affiliate)
This - WBNX 55.3 (CW affiliate)

RTV is on a pair of low power analogs (one of which I can receive a snowy picture on), and a low power digital in the far southern part of the market.

No Cosi here yet.

In the LA Market, we have...

Cozi - KNBC 4.2
Bounce - KCOP 13.2
Antenna - KTLA 5.2
This TV - KTLA 5.3
MeTV - KDOC 56.3

We also have RTV on KFLA 8.1 but there are maybe at most 3 people in the Southland that can get a lock on the signal.

Re: How many "classic TV" ATSC services are available in your market?

Antenna = KRCW
ME-TV = KATU
Retro = KWVT (when it actually comes in up here)

Since THIS is largely a *movie* service and not a "classic television" service in the same terms as the others, it shouldn't be counted along with the others. Thus, even though KRCW does also carry THIS in tandem with Antenna, we only have three "classic TV" services here.

In the Boston/Providence areas:

MeTV on WCVB 5.2 (Boston) WMUR 9.2 (Manchester, NH) and WJAR 10.2 (Providence, RI)
This TV on WHDH 7.2 (Boston)
RTV on WMFP 62.2 (Boston)

In Pittsburgh we have two.

MeTV on WPXI 11.2
RTV on WBGN 59.3

The latter is an LPTV so you need to be fairly close to the center of town to receive it.
MeTV is also available to most of us on WTOV 9.2 out of Steubenville, Ohio (though it
is a near perfect schedule overlap with WPXI).

Really wishing someone in this market would pick-up Antenna TV.
CBS owns 2 stations here and has something against subchannels apparently.

In Detroit:

This-TV 4.2 (WDIV)
Bounce 7.3 (WXYZ)
Antenna 38.2 (WADL)
Me-TV On Cable Systems Only but tagged as Me-TV Detroit. AT&T and WOW! are the only operators carrying this.

RTV was formerly on 7.2 but this was dropped in favor of LWN.

If we are counting ThisTV we've got that on WTAE 4.2

...and as to Bounce, unless you flipping channels or checking their website, you never knew the channel exist in Southern California. KCOP offers no promotion of the subchannel whatsoever either online or on-air; if anyone else who lives in a Fox O&O market whose MyNet station carries Bounce, I'd like to know if your station promotes Bounce in any way.

I actually wished Fox had picked up the affiliation in Chicago. They waited too long, & Weigel Broadcasting picked up the affiliation almost immediately. Instead of placing it on a subchannel to WCIU, they placed it on low power WWME-LD, which doesn't reach the entire market, & even fewer people on the Indiana side. I'm fortunate my new UHF antenna with pre-amp gets WWME-LD, or I wouldn't get Bounce at all. I met MeTV on both WWME-LD 23.1 & WCIU 26.3 (no loss there). Weigel promotes Bounce, but they fail to understand that not everyone can get it OTA in the market, by being on WWME-LD instead of the stronger WCIU signal. zif Soul Of The South goes on the air, & Weigel picks up that network as well, I can expect it to be on either WWME-LD 23.3 or WMEU-CD 48.2.

Because Bounce TV Website says TBA 2013 for KC but it looks like people in Lancaster pick it up on 150 and you might ask TWCKC when and where they are going to put it.

Ah, welcome to Bangor, Maine where we have zero, big goose egg, nada, zip. Considering based on census figures that we have one of the larger aging populations in the US, this is a big fail for the area. However, we got your whiny, snot faced, spoiled kids of the CW. <sigh> Bitter, ain't I?

Hartford/New Haven does not have ME-TV. Cozi TV replaced Weather Plus on WVIT.

Me-TV is carried on WZME (formerly WSAH) DT 43 which is carried on New Haven area cable systems and can probably be received over the air in much of the county.

Miami-Ft. Lauderdale:

6.2 Cozi
10.2 MeTV
29.2 (West Palm Beach, easy to catch here) Bounce*
39.3 Antenna
39.4 This*

*Like was said earlier, channels which emphasize movies make my list iffy.

Considering that 25 months ago all we had was "This", this is quite a nice improvement. Now, RTV, your turn.... :)

cd

Yes, some question This TV and Bounce being included on this list. But they still have a few Classic TV shows on their schedules. Why This TV no longer shows Sea Hunt, Highway Patrol, Bat Masterson, etc. is a matter for another post. At least they do one or two hours a day of Classic TV.

In the NYC market, WNBC has been promoting the start of Cozi. But I don't see promotion for the other Classic TV services. In fact, I don't see much promotion for any NYC subchannel. WCBS a few months ago started up a news service on Channel 2.2 but I don't see promos for it. Maybe WABC does an occasional Live Well promo but I haven't seen one for a while. And I don't ever remember seeing promos for Antenna, This, Bounce, etc.

CBS is keeping it's O&O's subchannel's free for a possible service of their own.

They were in fact planing a "Cozi" of their own at one point - but with stonger local
content - for their stations.
