How many former WPRO news people can you think of?

I know I will forget many but here we go back to the days of color radio when WPRO was run by Capital Cities and was in same location with Channel 12 which was then WPRO TV. Some people were primarily on TV but did do regular shifts on radio. In no particular order of importance ,just from memory. Bud Toevs,George Sweeney,Bill Brennan,Frank Daly. Mark Haines,Barbara Hamilton,John Sweeney,Walter Cryan,Steve Schatz,Dick Richmond,Don Batting,Ed Kane GeorgeNorton,George Hyde,Donna DePetro,Magee Hickey.Pamela Watts,Barry Parker,Rory Oneil,Milt Fullerton,Greg Pare,Glenn Laxton,Franz Laubert,Kim Tunnecliff,Perry Sneed,Levi Fears,Aviva Freudman,Mort Blender,Dave Fallon,Tony Silvera. That is 30. Lets hear some more.

Jeff Derdarian, Mark Silberstein, Laurie Johnson, Laura Cannon, Chris Camp

Artie Teft is another one. I worked with two people on that list. Laurie Johnson and Kimberly Tunnicliffe. Both were fun people.

This is one from the 70s...Tom Moriarty.
Tom’s most famous news broadcast was announcing Steve White was shot outside the WALE studios in 1991

Two more from the mid 60s: Dick Bradley did news in the evenings after Don Batting moved on, and Bob Wallace was there for a while before starting a long and successful career in television news, mostly in Chicago (21 years at CBS).

Great post! Here are a few more:

John Daniels (late 60's)
Ann Gabbianelli (early 80's)
Beverly Horne (mid 80's - early 90's)
Fran Liro (late 80's)
Ted Maynard (late 60's)
Bill Northrup (early 70's)
Polly Reynolds (late 70's)
Karen Roberts (late 70's)
Bill Rossi (late 60's)

John "Coach" Colletto, later on The Score. Also, Mike Gorman even though he was primarily sports I'd consider him part of the news staff. I remember one morning when Salty's morning crew was fooling around & Gorman said something mildly off color. Everyone started laughing at the remark & when they asked Salty why he wasn't, he said "Because I don't like it!"

Not positive with this one-Bob Cusack worked at WPRO in 60's not sure if he was an overnight jock when they would have to read wire copy twice an hour before nets did 24 hour news or was strictly news. i know he later worked at WICE and WHIM as a newsman and believe he eventualy ended up at WHDH

I think that it was actually Greg PERRY. I worked with him, there, back in the late 80's.
