How will the sale of Inner City effect Columbia?

I predict WOIC and the Batesburg sportstalker will be disposed of (or it could be repurposed to simulcast Hot). The two rock FM's might go too.

What happened essentially is the lenders took over Inner City (technically, transfer of the obligations from Goldman Sachs to a minority-led consortium, then take over by the consortium).

What happens next depends on a couple things. First, whether they intend to operate in the long-term, second whether Columbia and Jackson are priorities. Third, whether there would be a buyer apparent for all or some of the cluster. Cumulus, the prolific buyer in the downturn, is out of the picture since they have the Citadel cluster. That leaves few other options.

It usually comes down to money. If they are billing enough, they'll leave things alone. If not, they will change. I can't imagine they would change Fox 102.
