Howard Stern Negotiating to Be Part of "America's Got Talent"

NBC TV is reportedly offering Howard $15 million to be one of the judges on the popular summer TV program. Not bad for a second job. Naturally he would still keep his day job on Sirius XM and have an opportunity to reach many more people that do not subscribe to satellite radio.
If this deal comes to fruition, Howard would be replacing Piers Morgan, who wants to focus on his nightly show on CNN.

NY Times Article: http://mediadecoder.blogs.nytimes.c...-in-talks-to-be-judge-on-americas-got-talent/

According to AllAccess.com, Howard has confirmed that he will be taking this gig. The show is expected to move to New York.

Hmmm. I don't get how he is qualified to judge this type of talent. He's probably the biggest talk radio professional & personality, but what has he done in his career regarding singing, dancing, magic, stand up comedy or anything else in that vain? The people auditioning are there, because they think they have some talent that needs to be discovered and they are serious.

Okay, so what qualified Piers Morgan? Isn't this ultimately an ENTERTAINMENT show? If that is indeed the case, then how about having a judge who is entertaining! Piers Morgan is a piece of wood, and his CNN ratings reflect that. Nobody cares what "Snarky Limey #2" has to say. Even X-Factor hasn't been lighting up the ratings like they thought it would. Howard has had both Howie Mandel and Sharon Osbourne on the show many times and has a good rap with them.

I can't believe people are taking a show that has fire eaters and champion belchers on so seriously, like Howard was just appointed to the Supreme Court. "Quick, let's see what his qualifications are to judge the person who hangs in the air by his nipples!!"

i did see one episode of the program.i saw enough not to want to see it again.

there was a stage magician that did magic tricks intentally bad in a funny way.

howie mandel and sharon osborn got the jokes and gave the guy a good score and thought it was funny.piers morgan just thought it was a bad magic act and didn`t understand the other judges explination on why it was an entertaning act.

i liked howard stern in the day.that was when he could not go all out on the radio and had to be creative in how he said and did things.i don`t think he would be as interesting on satalite radio without the restraints.

as far as him being a talent judge on the show it just does not interest me.

The taboo drama that will be generated by Stern's mere presence will give that show more boost than it's had since inception. I have a feeling he will play the role of Simon Cowell better than Simon does himself. I'd personally rather see Stern on American Idol, but nonetheless it was a very smart move for AGT producers.

Imagine if this takes off... How soon will American Idol get a shock jock like Bubba the Love Sponge to be a judge?

How about Stern on X-Factor? that will sell.

I am so happy and excited that Howard is going to be on TV! I never watch that show but I do listen to him faithfully on SiriusXM Radio. Now, I am going to have to tune in just to watch him on tv. It's a great move for him. A win win for both NBC and SiriusXM. Congrats, Howard!

P.s. And to the Naysayers who said Howard was desperate to get on tv because he has such a small listening audience at SiriusXM. I say, bababooey to you! ;D
