Intentionally sabotaging! Putting a bad product on the air to do harm to Jason & Julie in his last few weeks on 680 AM. Maybe they'll sue him for not being professional! while leaving the company
Remember when David Geffen sued Neil Young for not being commercial? (the Trans or the Rockabilly album or both--- it was the 1983 Rockabilly album)?

"After the release of this album, David Geffen sued Neil for making "uncommercial" records. As a part of the suit, Geffen demanded that Neil repay the $3 million dollars (US) he had received for Trans and Everybody's Rockin'. Neil responded by countersuing Geffen for $21 million dollars (US), charging breach of contract and fraud. Both suits were dropped in 1985."
Remember when Saul Zaentz allegedly sued John Fogerty for allegedly plagiarizing himself (The Old Man Down The Road vs. Green River) http://www.concertfan.com/gn/8693-John-Fogerty-news.html
Remember when Lou Reed put out four sides of noise called METAL MACHINE MUSIC at the height of his popularity (in regards to record sales in the 70s) so all the retailers would order it...it was one of the biggest
returns in the history of the record biz next to Bob Dylan's PLANET WAVES and the four KISS solo albums.
It was intentional commercial suicide.
That being said...Howie Carr sounded A W F U L at 6 PM tonight. Now we know he is a talent, so I submit that
Carr intentionally mumbled along with his mumbles tracks and then went off on a tangent on old movies.
In this world of Bush's falling poll #s and so much political stuff to discuss Howie made the usually dull NPR seem like an exciting episode of Law & Order meets Baywatch by comparison.
Remember Demi Moore in DISCLOSURE being facetious with Michael Douglas "We all know you to be a highly competent..." after she sabotaged him???? Is Howie Sabotaging WRKO?
He hasn't sounded this awful in a decade...and he said he was in a good mood today. A good mood sticking it to the company paying him, that made him? Any thoughts?
Is Howie deep-sixing the afternoon drive show intentionally. It was so bad it made John Depetro's shows sound professional...
and that's why program directors usually refuse to allow a jock to stay on the air when they are going elsewhere. Think Parenteau when Oedipus wouldn't renew his contract...no final show.
