Howie Circa 2012: In two years, I’ll be on FM, one way or another..."

Graham's on an FM but it's in Atlanta...Jeff Katz is on WRVA (AM) Richmond VA, and the Andlemans? where are they...

Howie is on FM, but not in Boston. A couple stations in the Upper Valley; one on the Cape; two in upstate Maine,
a simulcast of WKBK in Keene, and a simulcast of WGAN in Portland. A total of 7 FMs...but not Boston. Since he left
WRKO, he is thus no longer on the HD-2 of WEEI-FM.

Well is you combine the WGBH and WBUR audience Moonbat Radio is the most listened to format in the market.
Howie and the other commercial talk radio format is dying for a variety of reasons.
1. 24 hour Cable News
2. Sports Talk
3. The format is dull repetitive and apeals to a an aging male demo that is not attractive to advertisers. Talk is so polarized that why would you want your product associated with a political philosophy. I persoanly will not do business with any advertisers who supports Jeff Kuhner, Howie Carr, Rush or Michael Savage.

On the other hand I found myself patronizing a restaurant (Salt Hill Pub, Lebanon NH) that was advertising on Howie's show (I sometimes listen via the WNTK app/Tune In) on
Veteran's Day when I was up there.

You have good points but Howie does offer some variety like some interviews and non-politics topics (Max Robins, Dr DeJung, music artist or author interviews).
Sports talk can indeed appeal to a wider ranging and often younger demo. Just remember when your team wins, say "We won" but if the same team loses, "They lost".

24 Hr cable news can be a spur for some to tune in to pol. talk radio to talk about things like Ferguson, etc. and hopefully around election time it did well. And for those
who do enjoy 24 hr cable news, sat. radio offers the audio of these channels.
