Ch 4 news teaser:'a popular radio host

Ch 4 said unknown when he returns to air.
Tweets by Maria Stephanos asking for

The title of this thread and the article you quoted are misleading. Howie is not going national on Monday. He's not going nationwide. In order to go national, the show would, you know, have to be on the air across the nation. Or at least across a good chunk of it.

In fact, all signs point to the fact that he'll actually be on fewer stations on Monday than he's on today. Sure that may be temporary, but he's sure not going national any time soon.

with one affiliate in the mid west, can we agree he is more than regional but not nationwide?

If he gets on a station in Oregon he will be "coast to coast" at that point will he be national?

With the advent of live streaming, it is conceivable that he has gone International.

I know there is no more "graft mobile" so it must have been a personal vehicle.

I expect the ER doctor will notify MA RMV that he had a medically related motor vehicle accident and his license will be suspended pending a hearing/documentation.

We'll see if he makes it back onto WRKO to do his final show

Counting the only station outside New England, a 1,000 watt day time only station in Shell Lake, WI, population 1,300, is a stretch. A real stretch... but I guess I have to give it to you.

My station streams, but I don't call myself a national radio personality... even if we do get scattered listeners from CT to Florida, and the odd international streamer. You can get technical all you want, but everybody knows the real story.

Howie's car had hit guardrail and flipped
over.He had seatbelt on. Telling listeners
he will use a driver now. On now via
ISDN line from kitchen of his home
briefly today and all day tomorrow.

WRKO will have Fisher House radiothon
Monday. No mention of Howie.

Howie was said to be sleep deprived,
up late for election returns

Someone on twitter said they got an
email advertising a job opening w the
new Howie network and 11/17
may be launch date after all?

@bostonradio said Howie on vacation all next wk so his new show does launch on 17th; fill ins would prob include Mike Siegel who was on past 2 days 4-7.
Don't know if he's cleaned out any stuff he has at RKO studios but apparently he won't even do his last show from sneaker bldg but from home. Unless they surprise
us, no RKO carriage of new show from what we hear.

Some nice meals at the 99 and the Olive Garden and I'm feeling fine.

Howie will be on, just not RKO ("I will return, you know where to find me" he said tonight) --his current network is about 15 times the amount of stations Jerry
Wlliams had.
btw a caller said Howie was an old man and maybe shouldn't be driving; he said "I'm about 20 years away from that". Um...he'll be 63 in January and already has
the white hair ("Q tip")

WRKO has been having Mike Siegel fill in for Howie on the last week of his contract; he has filled in for Howie before, and Jerry before that.
He belonged to Jerry's now-defunct Natl Assoc of Radio Talk Show Hosts.
Mike was born in '45 in New York, spent about 9 months as the 'new host' of Coast to Coast then Art Bell came back (2000-01) and did some
years as a host at KVI, Seattle. Now he does a web-only show...and fill ins like this. Will he get the RKO slot permanently? Don't know.
He does ultra-serious talk, yeah nothing wrong with that, but a little humor from time to time would help. On a conservative messageboard,
one person noted he was doing "Obama birther" talk (not to his taste) while another said Mike was like "Avi Nelson, Michele McPhee and Col Dave Hunt all
at once, turned up to 11!"

Not only does the affiliates page of howiecarrshow.com
no longer list WRKO other than a wrko.com mention at
bottom, after today's Howie column in the Herald it
now says 'Howie will be back on the radio Mon
at 3pm". Does not say where.

I got that same letter. I could post it here if anyone's interested.
