Howie's lawyers: let him work at 96.9 in the meantime

Yep, I agree with that too....Howie was so eager to sock it to 'em that he prematurely did so. And that has proven to be a costly mistake. Too bad, here it is 3:15 pm and still no Howie. At this rate, this thing could drag on forever - unless some humble pie is served and eaten.

What I don't get is that Howie has enough in the way of resources to hire great mouthpieces. Yet they all made (what seems to be) such a fundamental error on this. The more we learn, the uglier it gets. Having met Howie, and having great sympathy for his situation at Entercom, I'd love to see him win this one. But, that is seeming less and less likely as time goes on.

His point of view (in a legal sense) is difficult to argue in court. :-\

Howie has been sticking it to so many people for so long it is now - "don't get mad; get even" time as Bobby Kennedy used to say.

As someone else once said, ' be nice to the people on the way up because you will need them on the way down.'

I hope the legal mess with Howie Carr gets resolved soon, though this could easily drag out for quite a while as the appeal goes through the process. It sucks having a great talk show host hanging out there in limbo. Howie would quote from Chuck Scarborough who used to be an anchor at the old WNAC-TV Channel 7, "Bleep them before they bleep you".. Scarborough left channel 7 being on top of the ratings to go to NYC where he has been at Channel 4 WNBC for 30+ years. It appears that Howie should have kept things quiet until the right time, as he was a profit center and provided local programming stability for WRKO.

Ironically, he "bleeped" himself.

and there's business. wrko wants pete kenney in howie's slot which makes sense. the guy is hoo-wee-howie clone. he does what he does well. he writes and talks about the same boring topics every other day. and, more importantly he's over 60 so he'd be great with the aarp/keno demo on wrko.

Yup, each day that passes "father time" to quote Howie Carr is catching up with Carr.

(Today's Herald, another article by Howie's Secretary:

The classified ad mentioned was prob. from last year, post-DePetro, and the webmasters on Guest
St. forgot to take it down)

>>“He said, ‘Well, do you think you could do what Howie does?’ And I said, ‘Yeah,”

OK then Entercom, let Howie go to 'TKK and you can have this guy (is this the Peter Porcupine guy I've noticed
online?)

>>the same boring topics

the topics are only boring in the hands of boring hosts. Howie isn't boring in my opinion

>>It sucks having a great talk show host hanging out there in limbo

Hear hear!
