I’ll say March 14, but it was technically VERY early 3/15 when I got the new ones.
I had a huge MW opening, probably one of the best nights for a long time for easterly AM DX. Four new logs were added to my logbook!
1st – 1320 KFNZ Salt Lake City, UT; CBS Sports Radio; ID “Utah’s Sports Leader, 1320 K-Fan” over CHMB and others at 0045 PDT 3/15. NEW #593, 5KW, 596 miles. Always look for this at sunset to no avail so it was nice to grab another SLC. Now if I can get the graveyarders from SLC (KEYY/KSRR)…
2nd – 1630 KCJJ Iowa City, IA; One Direction “What Makes You Beautiful” over KRND; ID “The Mighty 1630, KCJJ” VG signal at 0111 PDT 3/15. NEW #594, 1KW, 1,473 miles. Only IA #4 here and I’ve been looking for this one for many years (way back to when I was in Western Washington)!
3rd – 1650 KYHN Fort Smith, AR; Red Eye Radio at times killing KBJD-Denver between 0115 and 0130; jingle came up for “Northern Arklahoma Radio” at 0124 PDT 3/15, and what do you know, KYHN is “Arklahoma Radio”! NEW #595, 1KW, 1558 miles, NEW STATE!! Always great to pull in another rare state out here in the Northwest! State #26 on AM.
4th – 1570 KBCV Hollister, MO; FINALLY heard this one with EE religious talk, in XERF null at 0130 PDT and “Bott Radio Network” IDs and jingles. NEW #596, 3KW, 1561 miles! Only MO #2 next to KMOX. All other times, it’s been very weak.
Oh, and the UNIDs – all over. I’ll start at 12AM.
600 Coast to Coast either KOGO or KCOL at 0021 PT.
640 SS likely Progreso under KFI at 0023
650 UNID “See You Tonight” Scotty McCreary, maybe KMTI Manti, UT. However, with condx, I wonder if WSM Nashville sometimes plays songs this new. I have been looking for the “Grand Ole Opry station” for many years now.
1250 Mexican station in and out between 0045 and 0100, maybe needed KYYS Kansas City. Kept coming in strong and fading back into the soup. ID was too weak and I did not hear a single mention of “Super X”, their slogan.
1250 UNID Old Time Radio, likely When Radio Was in the soup at 0058 PDT. Who runs it in the Midwest? Cannot find a thing on Google for a station on this frequency.
1660 UNID Sports talk not ESPN, likely needed WQLR in MI but faded into the soup before ID.
1700 huge signal with Spanish music, likely the new Tejano format of KKLF Richardson, TX under XEPE – no IDs however and faded. Sounded like KBGG CBS Sports was underneath all of it.
1710 even an imaginary carrier here, my first time since Western WA and the Everett/Mukilteo WA Spanish pirates. (I wonder if it IS a Western WA pirate that was the carrier. Patrick Martin picks up some interesting stuff on here sometimes from Seaside, OR and his 1500ft beverage.)
1690 UNID EE talk under KFSG/KDDZ, maybe needed WVON Chicago, IL on 1000 watts
1530 Couldn’t tell the SS under KFBK, maybe something in deep Mexico. Very weak.
1600 UNID Sports highlights under KTUB likely my needed KEPN Denver. Did not match ESPN so not Cedar Rapids KGYM.

1690 KDDZ Denver, CO best ever? Disney way over CA.
1670 KHPY Moreno Valley, CA Spanish talk under KNRO, no sign of needed WOZN which is 1537 miles from me and should be possible.
1330 CJYM dominate at 0134, and nothing really under it. Hit sack at this time.
