Took a hike up to Boulder Lake this afternoon, east of McCall. Also hiked a little further east to the basin below Buckhorn Mountain. On my way back, south side of Boulder Lake, stumbled across some Christian Contemporary music on 88.5, unusual signals on 94.3 and 93.9, and it was off to the races for a MASSIVE Es opening that went to the top of the band and wiped Boise FMs. Even chewed up nearby KAVY-89.1!!
But that's not all. The opening faded for about an hour. Then I got home from the hike spot, and it was back again with TX stations for another hour.

The big kicker was KAVY-89.1 (320W, 13 miles line-of-sight) getting chomped on by an NPR station. I suspect it was Wichita. The KAVY signal puts out over 50 dBu at this spot. Significant opening!!
