Matty was doing mornings on Kiss 108 when Teena Marie had currents. Of course they have to evolve, but the mechanical "all business / research driven / lowest common denominator / cookie cutter" model that powers the "most listened to" music radio stations may also be their undoing in an age of Pandora. Illegal pirate "Big City" displayed programming empathy that can potentially bond them with their listeners - not unlike the bond Kiss 108 forged with its listeners early on, that it continues to leverage to this day.
