I had no idea that KISQ Lisa St. Regis and Tony Sandoval also have shows for LA

Check all these profiles I had no idea they also do shows in LA but when I saw the E-mail addresses they are syndicated for Clear Channel Oldies affiliates that follow the KISQ format. Its like Smooth Jazz stations where I had no idea that Maria Lopez and Miranda Wilson were listed as KKSF-FM Smooth Jazz hosts but they were syndicated by Broadcast Architechture.

Not to be picky, but I posted the links to their shows on the other CC "old school" stations at least a year ago. Here's a link to V-101 Sacramento. Lisa St. Regis and Sylvia Chacon (both of KISQ) are also there: http://www.v1011fm.com/main.html
Off the subject, it gives me a chuckle that Don Sainte John who worked for many years at KFRC with Dr. Don Rose is now "Doctor" Don St. Johne.

How about a link to K-Ocean 105 in Monterey, where St. Regis also appears:

This is not "syndication" (in which they same show appears in separate markets. It's called voice-tracking, which I'm sure you've heared of, Recto. The jocks record their intros for each show, with local call letters and occasional local references to give it a "live and local" feel (ha, ha).

I understand that the jocks get a few thousand dollars per year, per station. If they are VTing enough stations, they can actually make a decent living - better than many radio professionals outsdie of morning drive can make these days.

Re: I had no idea that KISQ Lisa St. Regis and Tony Sandoval also have shows for

Hot 92.3 in LA is now pretty much a cash collecting robo-station these days. Seems to be the station everyone thinks will flip to FM talk.

As far as voice-tracking being lucrative, I'm not so sure. Karen Carson suddenly walked away from doing VT for a least a dozen stations, including KOST in LA for a single live gig @ CBS New York (Fresh 102.7)

Karen Carson Daly Probably gets more $$$ for being in the #1 Market. VTing a dozen compared to focusing on one, may be a benefit too. Isn't every on-air personality dream to get to New York, New York. So nice, they named it twice?

True I heard of Karel doing a VT talk radio show from LA but He is doing the show for KGO. I do know he is also Voice tracking for many others during the weekdays.
I guess its like Seacrest he would do a live show for KIIS-FM in LA and he would VT his Syndicated show to the rest of the nation on Hot/AC and CHR affiliates via CC.

Well I saw the Dial Global Video and looked at how a DJ can appear to be local or Pseudo local.

Actually, Seacrest's show is a little different, because he provides so much more content than your average VTed music show. Yes - he voicetracks inserts for the local stations: "Here's Star 101.3 Traffic," or "Maroon 5 now on Star 101.3"... or whatever. But the content elements of his KIIS-FM morning show are edited in the "syndicated" show, and the local KIIS references removed. So if he has some celebrity guest on his KIIS morning show, you'll be hearing it that afternoon on Star 101.3.

Normally, a Vted show is unique to each market. For one thing, the music has to be from each station's play list.

"Sounding Local" is probably as easy as finding out what events are happening in each locality you VT for, then making sure you mention them on each show.

Or if you're VTing for Phoenix on a hot summer day from foggy SF, I guess you just say "Sure is hot out there today in Phoneix!"

Is this somehow amazing?

No its just the norm today in able to stay in business.

I remember listening to her on K101 all the time, I had a radio crush on her. To this day I have no idea what she looks like. I think I like it better like that. :)

Now she's just a tramp jumping from station to station. Gotta love computer automation.

She's not jumping from station to station, she works for Clear Channel. She VT's for their Old School/ R&B formatted stations.
You can see her photo on the respective stations web site.

I know, I know. You just spoiled my joke. It was a bad joke anyway.

I worked for CC for almost 10 years and did some voice tracking myself, I'm familiar.
