I hate to be the bearer of bad news

Wow! I appreciate all the replies to this post.

Even though my students couldn't name a DFW radio station, I'll admit that results would vary from one location to another. Maybe my students were pulling a fast one on me. Or maybe my students are listening to radio, but just don't know which station(s) they're hearing due to lack of caring about that. I only asked the kids in that one particular class, and I didn't go to any other schools and pose the same question.

Perhaps I shouldn't make a gloomy prediction about the future of radio based on an unscientific poll.

Since all ratings surveys are 100% honest and accurate, kids must be listening to the radio. Otherwise, how would KISS FM be doing so well in that demographic?

But the kids in my class tell me they're not listening to the radio. I can also assure you they rarely listen to their teachers, as well!

I still listen to the radio and i'm in the 9th Grade but they think i'm dumb for listening to it, heck they don't even know what a radio is!

I have all kinds of techno capabilities in my Fusion but the only one I know how to really work is my radio(satellite included)! So long live the Gen X-er and Walkmans!!!! Radio will always have a customer in me. Now my kids are another story. They like the Sat radio station for kids.
