I Miss Dance Radio - KNRJ Energy Arizona 2004 Aircheck

I loved this station too. This was the channel that really introduced me to Dance Music. I can’t believe it’s been TEN YEARS since it went off the air.

Also I have several hours of recordings of Energy from 2005 and 2006. I need to add this to my collection.

On a side note I listen alot to Energy 98 which has Harry Legg doing the voice overs. It’s almost as though Energy never went away!

eeek, that was the 'Mike O' era (aka Energy98 clone)....he totally changed our production and rotations, ended up plummeting our .8 to a .4 (keep in mind, this was prior of KNRJ's 2012 power upgrade where they currently sit around a 1 share playing urban) so a .8 was pretty brag worthy for the signal. But yeah his time there was pretty short lived. The 'Energy Chicago' clone was more successful (and impressive....2002-2003)

I'd love to hear any of your recordings.

I have to admit that I enjoyed listening to Energy AZ even during the Mike O period. Of course, I didn't have the same experience you did since I was only a listener. Do you have any earlier recordings from 2002-2003? It's seems like they are very hard to come by on the internet. Since I have family in the Chicagoland area, I remember listening to Energy 92.7 & 5 during it's heyday and became excited when I learned that the KNRJ calls had been assigned to a station in Phoenix area (I remembered it had previously been used in Houston during the late 80's as Energy 96.5) and so badly wanted to have a dance station in Arizona (I was living in Tucson at the time). So, you can imagine my surprise when Energy Arizona appeared.

I sure miss Pete.
