I must assume WFAN will change its phone number when it moves to Hudson Street

For all these years WFAN has used 718-937-6666 for callers to the station. I must assume they will get a 212 number once they move to Hudson Street in Manhattan. I say they are cheap for not using an 800 number.

They can keep their number. You pay to move it I worked for an office in NJ that paid for a 212 area code.

If they keep 718-937-7777 there's a monthly charge for mileage between the central office in Long Island City and the Manhattan central office serving 325 Hudson Street. If 7777 has ten lines, it's the mileage per line times ten.

They may want a "212" but might get a "646" like Elaine did--especially
if the telco installer is still ticked off at CBS for firing Imus. <grin>

With digital telephony, it doesn't matter your physical location. You can be in the center of Manhattan and have a Los Angeles number.

Forget it. I've got Steve Somers on, and he just gave the 937 number as always into a break.

That's because we haven't moved yet.... :)

And I do believe we're getting a toll-free number: 1-800-937-66-66. We'll see what happens in the next couple-a weeks.

That's neat that they're going to be able to get the same seven-digit number in toll-free form!
