Here in the Tampa Bay area that night, WXPX ch.66 will have a "Feed The Children" special at 8PM, the health show at 9, and 90 minutes of "Growing Pains" at 9:30.

Feed The Children, St. Judes Hospital, Billy Graham Crusades - all crap that needs to be take off the air.

Marc, a bit off topic, but I hope you never have to be hungry (Feed the Children) or be hit by a devastating disease (St. Judes Hospital). To put down organizations like these makes you sound like a very selfish person.

Given these infomercials target people who most likely cannot afford to give money, they shouldn't be on TV.
Just ask yourself this: How much money is spent on air time that could be spent on saving children?

Honestly, I don't want to turn this into an all-out war of words. But I have to ask, can you provide me with some facts about this statement???

With most every non-profit organization i.e. land trusts, hospitals, etc., you have to spend money to make people aware of your mission. I don't know what the two organizations cited here spend on buying air time from "i" or any other network, but they obviously work as they've been doing them for a long time. It's up to the donor to find out for his/herself to ask how much of every dollar goes to what.

Moderator, if I've broken some rules here, especially in turning the direction of the thread into something else, please 1) accept my apology in advance and 2) move this to a more appropriate area.

Re: "i" Network - Growing Pains Sneak Peak, Thanksgiving Marathon, and Holiday Stuf

Many large non-profit organizations are "forced" to buy air time to be heard these days. The snail mail campaigns just don't get people's attention anymore.

Nobody is forcing anyone to donate. People willingly send money. These infomercials can't possibly be as bad as, for example, the lottery where poor people spend a lot of money for an extremely remote chance of winning the big jackpot.

When PAX started, it promised family-friendly programming. For the most part, "i" has continued showing many shows that families could watch together. I applaud them for that (although "i" is arguably a business trying to find its niche and profit off of the family friendly mantra).

I wish that the I network would air all these shows everyday starting next year. That would give Nick at Nite and TV Land a run for their money. I have never seen McHale's Navy at all so this will be the first time I will see it. I have not seen Kate and Allie,The Flying Nun,Adam-12,Hazel,and 60's Dragnet on TV in several years so that's great to see all of these shows back on TV again.

I hope that they would start up the I network on at Noon Central,1:00 PM Eastern, like they did whenever it was PAX and they aired classic TV shows during the afternoons like The Big Valley and Eight Is Enough and I think that the shows mentioned in the Christmas marathon would do it. It would beat all of the informercials they have now.
