I notice that Coast 93 does not have any jingles at all none, nada, what happen???????. I miss the old WSNE. Also 4 hours ago i was recoding Coast 93 and they did the station ID wrong here is a recording.

http://www.zshare.net/audio/753158235e0c9280/

This guy did this station ID wrong he's so post to say "WSNE and WSNE-HD1 Taunton/Providence" and not "WSNE-FM and WSNE-FM-HD1 Taunton/Providence" WRONG! theres no WSNE-AM stations in this market so he does not need to add the -FM OR -AM but WPRO For example does add -FM and -AM at the end of there call letters so the people won't get confuse. Also technically the IBOC is modulated by COFDM which is a different system so he cant say "and WSNE-FM-HD1" because IBOC is not part of FM. The correct way to say it is "and WSNE-HD1".

They should hire you. I think you care about this stuff more than they do.

I don't think clear channel is going to hire me or anybody. They like to keep radio stations away from people. Its like corporations want to control the media.

You are actually incorrect on your assessment. The -FM suffix is actually part of the legal FCC callsign. Additionally, an FM station can have the suffix without actually using the call on another medium (i.e., AM or TV). A few examples of this are:

WCOD-FM Hyannis (106.1) - http://www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/fmq?list=0&facid=29568
WJFD-FM New Bedford (97.3) - http://www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/fmq?list=0&facid=18720
WPXY-FM Rochester (97.9) - http://www.fcc.gov/fcc-bin/fmq?list=0&facid=53966

I use WPXY as an example because I used to travel to upstate NY about 10 years ago and listened to them often. They used to have WPXY (AM), but shut it down and still maintained the -FM on 97.9 (now owned by Entercom). Another side note; 106.1 on the cape has illegally identified as WCOD Hyannis for as long as I can remember. Their FCC license has the suffix, therefore they should be IDing as WCOD-FM Hyannis. They also append "Cape Cod" after Hyannis, which is perfectly fine, as long as the first city mentioned is the COL.

WSNE-FM used to be simply WSNE, however Clear Channel added the suffix to use WSNE (AM) in another market. They have since dropped that call sign, yet left the suffix.

i think they changed there announcer guy its usually the lady who does ryan seacracks radio show hmmm

Is it ok for Coast 93.3 change back to Star 93.3 since Star 93.7(Boston) has been gone for while now ?

I noticed that they stopped playing KISS 108 music during AM drive. I was driving into Boston when I flipped back & forth from 93.3 to 107.9 and noticed the music was different.

Let's face it; it's just an odd station. It is what it is.

I'm not sure "odd" is quite the right way to put it. As far back as I can remember 93.3 since it stopped being "WRLM"...I don't think the place has ever had a really solid identity of its own.

In my opinion....Holland is right on the money when he says that 93.3 is this market's "one music station too many"....and may eventually find its niche in some sort of spoken-word format.

I'm guessing their big strategy is to skim off the top from PRO & Lite. Must be why they toned down the KISS 108 music. The station id is the Troll. Odd. What's even odder is the way the HJY folks try to change their voices on Coast. The Abraham Lincoln spot was enough to make me turn the radio off.

Yep, recently Coast is now playing their own music during the Matty in the Morning show. And how do they do it?

I disagree. I can remember listening to WSNE in my mother's car from the early/mid '80s through the '90s & 93.3 has been the not-too-hard/not-too-soft station. Putting a spoken-word format over there is a permanent solution to a temporary problem (WSNE-FM's ownership not putting any money in to the station). Plus, why would Clear Channel or anyone who buys that exact cluster from them want to give up the one female-heavy demo they have? If there's a vulnerable F.M. over there, it seems to be 101.5. Why else stick U.R.I. sports over there from time to time?

DR It was headed in the right direction when it was "Southern New England's Music Variety Station" The plug was pulled on that right quick. There were some big jump in numbers. I would guess not enough ??? ???

The plug got pulled on everything real quick at 93.3 and that's the problem. The only brand recognition they ever had was Jones and Joan and even though their numbers were dwindling it's all they ever had that the average listener recognizes to this date. It's never been programmed well since the Hess days and even though I do think Rick Everett is/was a good programmer he handled the product poorly as if all he cared about was B101. Now how temporary a problem is spending money at Clear Channel really?

Has anyone heard the New England VW spot with both Billy Costa and Kristen Lessard? I give them credit for creating a regional spot with personalities from both stations. Even though you can tell the spot was created in 2 separate files and then merged; it's a step in the right direction.

This morning they botched their 630 AM headlines. I notice this happens a lot, not even sure why they do the headlines.

If Clear Channel is temporary then they're one in the same. I can't think of the last promotional item/event I've heard of a station doing. No billboards (unlike back in the '80s when PRO-FM had one billboard atop downtown & Lite 105 was on the billboard facing the other direction & the billboards were laid out in an "L" pattern. But, I've heard WSNE-FM on in stores so maybe they don't need it. Again, I'd be more concerned with B101.

What are the chances of HJJ going 'Rush Radio'?

100 percent!!!......Because they already ARE "Rush Radio"....except that....for some reason known only to CC Providence, they're not using the "Rush Radio" branding, like other CC bird-fed talkers around the country are using....including 1200 WXKS, in the Boston market.

I was there during the Hess daze. I know, it was NOT programmed better. Numbers will prove it.
