OKAY SO DO YOU ALL REMEMBER THAT CBS BOUGHT MEGA 1O1 AND THAT OTHER STATION RIGHT?? WELL I THINK MEGA AND HOT ARE GONNA SWITCH FREQUENCIES CUZ MEGA HAS A BETTER SIGNAL AND SO THEY CAN COMPETE BETTER WITH KRBE... JUST CAME ACCROSS IT OR THOUGHT ABOUT IT TODAY, BECAUSE I HEARD MEGA IS LEAVING MONDAY TOO... I WORKED AT XO JUST QUIT ABOUT A WEEK AGO..WORKED AS A SIDEKICK IN THE MORNING SHOW AND SOMEONE TOLD US ABOUT IT..SO LETS SEE WHAT HAPPENS...WHAT DO YALL THINK??
 
All those sticks are down in Missouri City, the signals are about the same. Right now, they are in rugged shape by the time you get past Huntsville. It used to be 40 miles more before they started messing around with HD - so if somebody really wanted a better signal over all of Houston, all they have to do is shut HD down and they will have a real advantage over the competition - unless they really care about the couple of hundred people who actually have HD radios in the Houston metro area.
 
i heard if from a friend that works in sales at XO and she heard it from her friend that works in sales in Mega..so i think hot is going to 101 and Mega bye bye... 95 7 would be EL Patron 95.7

The signal switch, i can believe. But how can CBS get rid of Mega when they started one in Dallas based on ours??
 
in dallas i know mega will work cuz the competition over there is limited here you have like four stations with the same format..megas ratings are going down month by month..i just know that there will make another regional mexican station to compete with la raza and la que buena
 
I don't see these frequencies swapping at all, nor do I see ANOTHER regional mexican station popping up. I heard that CBS is keeping mega, but I could be wrong. I do see CBS flipping Mega to hip hop to go against KBXX. That would make more sense IMO.

At least we all have a strong feeling this isnt gonna happen: flipping 95-7 to "fresh". How are they gonna protect Mix if they do that?
 
Here's what i think what MIGHT happen Monday Morning:

  • Hot and Mix swapping signals
  • Hot and Mega swapping signals
  • Britney Spears and/or Pussycat Dolls Music all day Monday, since their concert is that night, and Pussycat Dolls will still be in the studio then too.
  • Hot changing name to AMP (I think i heard the same V/O that does AMP say stay tuned Monday Moring)
  • Hot changing name to NOW
  • Hot changing name to different name of a same format
  • Or the PD say something on monday morning to end the "stunt": april fools!!

or hot and mega switching signals and switching names..lol..sorry i think im gonna go with that one too..hahaha
 
I think all of you are way off and its just a promotional stunt but it is really funny to read all this. What it says is HOT 957 apparently is a HOT staion or there wouldn't be so much talk about all this. Congrats Hot 957,if your promotion works as well on the air as it has worked here, then look for a spike in your ratings.

I wholeheartedly agree!
 
Of course it's a promotional stunt! Have any of you conspiracy theorists reviewed the ratings lately. MEGA is doing quite well and giving the Univision stations a good run for their money, literally. MEGA is dug in and will probably be around a lot longer than most of us.
