I wanted to check to see if anyone knew about the Channel 40 studio

When they announced the other night when they were welcoming Channel 34 viewers, Matthew Crouch mentioned they still had not found Studio facilities in Jackson. I am now wondering about the remark made by someone on this board asking about the Channel 40 studio, specifically this remark:

A thought occurred to me this morning... now that WLBT has taken over operation of WDBD, WUFX, and WXMS, could it be possible that Trinity would take over the former WDBD studios on Channel 16 Way?

Is Channel 40's studio available? Does anyone know?

I drove by the Fox 40 studio on Tuesday and the signs for Fox 40, My35 and WXMS were still on the building, and cars were still in the parking lot. I don't know if the studio is being used, but it sure appears like the rest of the station is still being used. Raycom may just be using WLBT for the newscasts and still sending out the programming from Southwest Jackson.

I'm sure master control and most of the playback and satelite equipment is in the building. The tower is also there. It would be a major undertaking to move the entire station to WLBT. It it ain't broke... I just wish they had left the newscast there. I liked WDBD's original presentation better. Better graphics, bumper music etc. The WDBD newscast is now just a cheesy clone of WLBT

So all of this is mere speculation now that the transfer from CW to TBN was made. I don't think that helps TBN find themselves a new Studio

Why would 34 even need a studio. I didn't think they had any local programming and everything was being piped in from TBN.

I was wondering the same thing. Do TBN stations have local studios? Especially outside of top 25 markets? Does WMPV in Mobile have a local studio? I seem to recall some story about WMPV building a very expensive studio back in the 1980's only to abandon it without ever using it... something along those lines at least?

According to TBN they do some "Praise the Lord" programs and "Behind the Scenes" programs on local studio locations as well as some local programming that preempts main TBN programming from time to time.
