I will give credit to WFAA for one thing. (DFW market)

I will give credit to WFAA for one thing.

In the past as a viewer I have criticized their management for making decisions that I felt like damaged what was other wise one the best newscast & teams in the DFW area. I am not taking back any of that criticism, but I will point out one thing they did that was a smart move in my opinion.

Keeping Troy Dungan under contract to work the Santa's Helpers promotion and other PR was a smart move. It feels good to see him on the air working the promotion last night. At my first morning stop there was lady talking about seeing him on the news last night and how well he was looking.

I think it was a feel good move for the station, under the KCH era of managment they have screwed the pooch six ways to sunday with all their boneheaded moves. I certainly hope they get their situation in hand in 2008

True that, OTT. There are very few folk in this market that typify the holidays like Troy. Other stations use the evening team, or some such. WFAA has given those reins to Troy for decades. My only hope is that he keeps taking his arthritis medication as to not lose grip of said helm and see it end up in Dork-us' hands.

Pity that would be.

Well now that Mike Devlin is President and GM of WFAA, perhaps he can get the station back to its roots since he worked for Marty Haag at 8 in the 80s. He's a very smart news man and journalist.

Im hoping we'll see better product in the next year..

I think they have already improved. They still have some production mistakes , but don't they all. Overall, I think the news stories are better. I'm still a little confused as to why the gospel music segments are a recurring subject. I don't dislike gospel, but it seems out of place. BTW, Merry Christmas, happy holidays, etc...........

Im guessing its someone or persons one of the Photogs know. I dont mind it, seeing the other car crash filler we've had to put up with. At least they're not pulling a KXXV-25 Waco promoting their religious agenda on local television.

Troy's in Fort Worth with John Mcaa doing the toy drive. Just dawned on me Pete's been missing all week.
