I wonder what am 1260 will sound like after september 26th.

I don't know why

I don't know why some company (Entercom, CBS Radio, Clear Channel, Greater Media) anyone, any company, I don't know why they won't buy that station, and as I said before. Put anything good on there such as
-"The Touch" Westwood One Radio Network Westwoodone.com on the top left choose "Programming", "Formats", "Urban-R&B" choose "The Touch"
-Another idea I had was to have a News Talk Format on there and go up against WBZ 103oam
-Last Idea I had was put on "En Vivo" Westwood One Radio Network (same choices as above when you enter their website). That one would be better than "ESPN Deportes"

Well, hey, there is one big improvement since Sept. 26: They shut off 1.260ʼs IBOC!

Did they let the analog audio back out to 10kHz?? Houston's 1590 IBOC has been off for over a year but they left the analog at 5kHz audio...(WHY?)....I think going IBOC was a bad idea for Disney...their audience did not have a big IBOC radio penetration and thus forcing the analog audio to 5kHz drove listeners away....

1260's I-BlOCk shut off! Meanwhile
pirates all over the place but they may
well keep 1260 on up till new owners
take over, foiling pirate plans to land
there.
Boston and just north..the usual
AMs, plus 92.1 (yup next to UMB),
102.9, 91.3 (next to MFO even
in Revere etc)

I think so. I can hear WTSN clearly along I-95 in the Amesbury/Seabrook area for the first time in years, but there is some analog spillover from 1260, suggesting it is running 10 KHz audio.

Fresh rumor on the New York board about Family Radio swooping in for 1560 there. You think the end-of-the-world gang would be interested in Boston as well?

The HD/IBOC is back on WMKI 1260 right now.

It sounds like there's an engineer or someone working on it right now. The HD/IBOC was just off again, then I heard the transmitter shut off for a second, now the HD/IBOC is back on again, but at the moment, the modulation level drops way down when the receiver locks into HD from analog.

God I hope not

God I hope not.
I hope some company can decide to create some format on there
News Talk
Urban AC (The Touch) Westwood One Radio Network
Spanish AC (En Vivo) Westwood One Radio
anything good like these

Like who?

Exactly. You can't turn back time. AM is a dying band, of interest mainly to older people advertisers don't want to reach, residents of ethnic enclaves in major cities, religious zealots, conspiracy theorists, and radio hobbyists. A musical format of any kind just won't generate numbers worth anything to any advertiser. Even the all-news and sports/sports talk operations left on the band will have to seriously consider FM in the next few years, especially if more car radios are manufactured without AM, as some already are.
