CBS stations in Pitt., Minn., and St Louis all have Overnight America I believe and Boston would continue to be an exception with live and local if they do indeed go on with what they said. (And
in terms of news last night Leveille and a WBZ news producer were on and they mentioned how
they broke the Whitey Bulger captured story, had the coverage of Bin Laden's death, etc.--and I would add that WBZ helped to spread word of the Danvers chem plant explosion--so they were pointing out that, while not going all news, sometimes the overnight show can cover local stories.)
WBZ and the folks at CBS may figure a local talk host with pleasant topics and occasional politics
is the way to go, rather than national talk. What else, a simulcast of CNN HN (Nancy Grace! blecch) or NECN (yeah the 3 am real estate show)? Jim Bohannon? Colon cleanser informercials? Dare I
suggest perhaps music (jazz, blues, esoteric?) Or all news a la WCBS? btw for Norm note the thread about WWZN changes
and you wonder if CC may put prog talk on either 1200 or 101.7 (wouldn't be both, as they'd
want to clear Rush and do their own local conserv talk) with the displaced Miller, Hartmann,
and Schultz.
Talk about a busy couple of weeks in talk radio locally: the passing of Lovell, Leveille retires,
Finneran, Ingraham, and Brien gone from RKO and McPhee returns, now the WWZN changes...
