Ideally, who/what would you like to hear replacing Steve LeVeille's broadcasts?

Assuming that the timeslot isn't taken up by a syndicated show (which I fear is very likely), I can see two in-house candidates get promoted to the weeknight late-night slot: Morgan White, Jr. or Jordan Rich.
Believe it or not, I see as an outside the box longshot Cha-Chi LoPrete of sister station WZLX-100.7. LoPrete, back in the late 1980's/early 1990's hosted a talk/variety show on the local cable access channel in Norwood, Massachusetts, which was also shown on cable access channels across New England.
Under LoPrete, it would become more off-the-wall, but he's quite talented and perhaps he might be able to surprise us and stick to the traditional 'BZ all-night talk format (Larry Glick, Bob Raleigh, Norm nathan, Steve LeVeille, Jordan Rich)

The election season may hold off a major change. You may see a period of several hosts --6 months?-- followed by new program (syndi) after Jan. 1.
Supposedly someone in the market--other than Steve-- was given strong consideration the first time. I don't know who that was (who)?
The guy who replaced long-timers Steve & Johnnie at WGN in Jan. I think is a conservative (from 'GN)? But hard right in the overnight wouldn't work locally. I can think of a couple of journalist types but the hour probably eliminates them.

I don't think hard politics is the right fit overnights. Needs to be more general interest. Also someone that can carry the show without having a lot of interviews since they are hard to get at that hour.
Find it odd that the retirement annoucement happened with such little notice. I would think there would be a bit more time between the announcement and the final show.

Leveille was saying just now WBZ plans are to have his reg. fill ins host for now, live and local till a perm. host is found, "a nationwide search" (and would stay live/local/)
Yours is easily the best idea.News until midnight, and Put the old fart in overnight, and really marginalize WBZ's already crappy talk product.

When Dan Rea took over 8-midnight, that turned out to be an unexpected, yet good move. I had assumed Jordan, Pat Desmaris, or someone else already with a slot on the station would get it. So I assume they will look around come up with someone good.
If there is a conspiracy behind the scenes to make overnights syndicated, brokered, etc. then they will just destroy a lot of loyalty to WBZ. What they've done on the weekends has already made it so I never even bother putting them on except real early on the weekends (before 9am). I used to have it on pretty much all day on the weekends. If they ruin the late nights then I'm going to be elsewhere which means I'll be elsewhere in the morning.

As far as Revolution Boston goes, anything that happens on that station, by default, or on purpose is Jeff Santos. Jeff Santos may have had a falling out with Dial Global, and that's why Stephanie Miller,
Thom Hartmann, and Ed Schultz aren't on, or negotiations have broken down, who knows? His website is always a day late, and a dollar short.

May be nothing more that Steve & Mrs. Steve wanting to enjoy his retirement years early, esp. since they recently purchased their new, larger "vacation home" in Maine.
