Ideally, who/what would you like to hear replacing Steve LeVeille's broadcasts?

Re: Ideally, who/what would you like to hear

Has BZ given any idea about when they will make a decision?
I'd be surprised if it goes more than a few weeks into '13. With this late date it has to be a budget thing or a flip to syndi. I'm sure they know who they want if they're staying L and L.

I thought that but suspected they wouldn't want overnights--so, prediction or truth? So far I haven't heard that officially.
Problem: TWO salaries.
Unless they felt it could be profitable.

Raccoonradio commented about Jim Braude and Margery Eagan coming to WBZ-1030 for overnights: said:

Another problem: Traditionally, WBZ's overnight talk shows have been on the "light" side (Larry Glick, Bob Raleigh, Norm Nathan, Steve LeVeille, Jordan Rich), with occasional (if the news warranted it) "heavy" material. Bringing in Braude and Eagan would change the dynamic of overnights on WBZ.

I personally still think Morgan White, Jr. should and will get the weeknight overnight slot at 'BZ.

Besides, I suspect Braude and Eagan will wind up at WRKO-680, doing weekdays from 9 A.M. to 12 Noon (with 'RKO dumping the regionally-syndicated "Financial Exchange" show with Barry Armstrong, and Jeff Kuhner losing the 11 A.M.-12 Noon hour, but perhaps gaining the 5-6 A.M. hour so he'd be on 5-9 A.M.).

yes--supposedly they had wanted E&B but ratings lately not too hot, hence the change

Don't know if Morgan would want full time or not--he has club gigs and other stuff and may
not want a full time show. They may keep up with diff hosts, who knows

Ummm....you thought that WBZ, for no conceivable reason might think of putting E&B on the overnight, and are not sure if two currently unemployed marginal talk talents or local mini-celebrity Morgan White, Jr would take a full time gig on one of the most fabled, and powerhouse, AMs in the western hemisphere?

Who writes this stuff, Lewis Carroll?

Exactly Mr. Bench. I could not have said it better. I have never seen anyone on any board I visit post so much and say so little

Personally, I'm not real enamored with any of the potential hosts 100%. Here is my personal take on the landscape thus far.

I do like Morgan the best, I suppose. He did mention that if he were to take the slot that it would not be trivia every night. I'm sure he would tweak the show in other ways too.

On 'BZ's radio page there is a list of comments, and a couple people have commented on Morgan's perceived "rude" attitude. I feel he does have a touch of arrogance that should be addressed, but then again, that may just be a typical "Boston/New England" thing.

One fact that is glaring is the that he does play favorites. The post guy from Maryland can get a 30 min. segment if he wants it, along with a few others, while some other callers may get a short shrift of 4 min.

For all of Steve's faults (lol) one positive point I will make about him is that he was the most fair host I have ever listened to in terms of giving everyone equal time. :)

I sure do miss the early days of the Steve LeVeille broadcast. Towards the end it got a little strained...

Bradley Jay - NO WAY! ::)

Here again, on On 'BZ's radio page there is a list of comments with a lot of posters saying how Bradley is the top notch guy for this show. Give me a break. Since you can post anonymously on there w/o registration, I suspect an obvious stacking of the deck. He is mind numbing, especially with his personal views. Stick to records/music, it's where you function best.

Dean Johnson - As one person previously put it - A very nice guy, but too polished. I don't care for his interviews that much. His topic matter and radio presense almost seems like he doesn't even want to be there.

Jen Brien - She is a pleasant personality, full of herself - but I kinda like it. I probably couldn't stand to listen every night, but I think she is witty and can carry the show well. Her swears and use of the word "friend" grate on me a bit, but that's who she is - so be it. She could tone the swears down a bit & I would be okay with that. I did deduct a few points from her in regards to her recent admission of eating dog food/dog biscuit topic. In a word, disgusting.

Her style of abruptly ending the phone call is not desirable either. It would be nice to have a chance to wrap up your call without being quickly jettisoned from the show. She has enough radio experience behind her, she should understand that.

So, that's my take. Just one guy's opinion. :)

~ You may not dig him but he runs the best show (of those listed).
~ I haven't heard the "post guy" in weeks/months...a relief.

I sure do miss the early days of the Steve LeVeille broadcast.
I doubt he misses the biz. When he took his whole vaca before summer arrived you could tell he was fried.

I think they should give the job to Lobel. When I listened he sounded out of his mind and I would love to listen to a wackjob every night.

Agreed ;D

Even the fitness equipment commercial he does on 'BZ sounds "strange".
