If 94.3 WYBC-FM/New Haven were on 99.1-FM or 101.3-FM

If R&B Adult WYBC-FM/New Haven were on 99.1-FM or 101.3-FM, would HOT 93.7 still be able to stay in the 8s and 9s (ratings) in the Hartford market? I'm sure the station's teen numbers would stay the same.

My 48 year old aunt tells me that she only listens to HOT 93.7 because there is no R&B FM station for grown folks in the Hartford market. She says that High School station WQTQ-FM is Hip-Hop one hour,jazzy the next hour and old school R&B the next. She has to change the dial every other hour.

89.9 used to be a good R&B station but as you said,HIP HOP has taken it over....

I would suggest her listen to 94.3,ITS THE BEST!!

That's the point, you can't pick up 94.3 well in Hartford.

I can't pick them up well in New Britain either. Part of that is WERB-FM 94.5 from Berlin High School.

The other day at work in Wallingford CT,My partner listens to WYBC everyday but the that day WYBC's signal petered out for awhile, today they came in clear.It would be nice to see WYBC with the power of KC101,WPLR or other with the same power.I like WYBC because they dont play alot of todays crap tunes.

Yes people can like different types of music. I listen to pop, country, hip hop, rock. I was only saying someone who likes urban ac doesn't want to listen to Best I Ever Had, Every Girl In The World, Boom Boom Pow, etc. Sure Hot 93.7 is soft at night without the Boom Boom Pow.

I hope not,Give it some tweeks with the power and antenna hight without killing the protecting stations on that freq,btw, who are the protected stations on WYBC-FM's freq.

WYBC increased the antenna height in 2000.

However there isn't any wiggle room for them to increase their signal really from what it is.
With WMJC to the south-west, WHJY to the east and WKXP to the west, and WMAS-FM and WIHS (10.7 IF spaced) to the north, their ability to move is limited.
