If it's Tuesday, it must be Ayla and the girls on American Idol

Ok, well it was Girls Night on American Idol.

Ayla strayed from her normal "comfort zone" of singing ballads and went for the fun route. She did pretty well and was much more animated than before. She certainly didnt have the best performance of the night although I thought it was one of her better preformances. On a personal note, I didnt like her outfit or her hair. She looked too grown up. Even Simon said so.

My ratings for the night based on performance:

1. Mandisa
2. Kellie
3. Katherine
4. Melissa
5. Ayla
6. Lisa
7. Kinnik
8. Paris

If I were a betting man, I'd say that Kinnik and Paris get voted out this week.

Other observations: I'd like to thank Melissa for looking absolutely hot and awesome and, for 2 weeks in a row now, wearing outfits that show off her bellybutton ring. American Idol needs an 866 voting number just for Melissa's bellybutton ring.

And I'd like to thank Kellie for being just about the most adorable thing on the face of the planet. Simon actually said "I'd almost prefer you over last year's winner"...referring, of course, to AI 4 winner Carrie Underwood who just performed on the show last week. (Carrie and Kellie are both from North Carolina, by the way.) Simon also called Kellie a "naughty minx"...of course, Kellie had no idea what that meant. AI needs an 866 number just to vote for Kellie's adorable-ness.

Based on tonite's and past performances, I'm going with Mandisa, Kellie, Katherine, and Melissa eventually into the top 4 girls.

The guys go tomorrow night and then 2 more girls and 2 guys get sent home Thursday night.

Hey, anyone know who or what determines the order in which the girls (and guys too) sing?? Do they pick numbers out of a hat?? Based on number of votes received?? Most to least? Least to most??

Ummmm, there was a lot of eye candy to look at last night..Kellie, Melissa and Ayla (who is quite hot) are tops in my book! Some "bad karaoke" performances last night by Kinnik and Paris and Melissa too. All in all, this whole *made for TV* event is an absolute ratings coup by Fox!

Must correct you on one one thing, though. Carrie Underwood is from eastern Oklahoma (somewhere near Muskogee)...not from North Carolina. If you drive along I-40 through her hometown, there's a huge billboard proudly announcing how it's the home of the Idol Winner.

Heck, even the accent they speak with is waaaay different too (like Chicago vs. Boston)! All cute blonde southerners are not the same!!!!

Oklahoma...that's what I meant. I spelled it wrong. Typo. ;oP

Ayla's dad Scott Brown won't be Kerry Healey's running mate in the election this year, Healey has selected Reed Hillman instead of Brown.
