IF KTWV gets destroyed by PPM will the folks at BA aim to get back in LA?

IF CBS decides to dump KTWV due to PPM I'm sure the folks at BA will pitch to another station at picking up the format in LA. BAs 24 hour syndicated show could go on 98.7 KYSR or 104.3. When Denver lost thier SJ station 3 months later another company picked up the format. BA is located in the LA area. Since BA is partially owned by Clear Channel Kepler will try to push clear channel into airing his network in LA.

Paul the programing director at the Wave is very aware of his PPM ratings. He feels that he achieve improved ratings by tweeking his playlist.

Okay, I'm a radio vet, but I'm at a loss here. Excuse the ignorance, but who or what is BA?

BA is Broadcast Architecture, the consultants or format providers for most of America's SJ formats now that Jones is out of it.

BA was formed by Frank Cody and Owen Leach in the mid 50's when they launched KTWV... and BA has been a research company and SJ advisor since then. It's run by Allen Kepler now, and based in Encino.

I believe you mean in the mid 80s, specifically 1987.

KTWV was KRHM in the mid 50s and was not airing a smooth jazz format.

Yes, correct. Mid-80's it is.

So let me get this straight -- Clear Channel would want to dump a station that is top 10 25-54 (KBIG) or top 15 25-54 (KYSR) - and helps KIIS stay ahead of KROQ - to have one that ranked below the top 15 25-54. I don't think so.

Not to mention the fact that KHHT and KOST would be the two biggest beneficiaries of a KTWV flip (which I don't believe will be on the table before KLSX).

The Wave flip isn't necessarily a bad topic - but CC picking it up isn't even worth discussing.
