If you happen to hear the same song on both cd1025 and x106.7

It'll sound like it has life on one, and like it's coming out of a transistor radio on the other. No bass, it's barely in stereo, and the overall volume is noticeably lower. I know I know, I'm beating a dead horse with another "Cd101 has bad sound quality" post, but it annoys the crap out of me. You would think a DJ, or someone that works at the station would notice, and attempt to fix the sound. I always thought they had bad sound quality, but the other day both stations happened to be playing "Florence + The Machine", and it sounded a hundred times better on 106.7. That is all, I'll stop with the posts about 102.5's sound quality. Cause I think everyone knows.

P.S.-the sound quality is still better than when it first went to 102.5. So I'll give them that, and I like the music better.

The sound quality was also much better when CD1025 was on 101.1.

Personnel, I think one of the reasons CC Columbus went back to playing alternative music on 106.7 is because of the bad sound quality of CD1025. Ex CD1025 listeners who can't stand listening to the bad sound quality on CD1025 will probably settle for X106.7. X106.7 has excellent sound quality in my opinion, thanks to their great engineering staff.

If you happen to hear the same song on both cd1025 and x106.7...that's not too bad, cause there's lots of other songs that you can hear on six or seven different stations in this town. :(

No way. I can't believe that listeners would choose a station to listen to based solely on sound quality. I listen to 102.5 frequently and don't notice the difference unless I really pay attention.

Really? Cause I notice a difference right off the bat. The volume is clearly lower than all the other stations, and there's a lot less bass on the songs as well. If you're in the car, and switch between 106.7 and 102.5, or if you switch between 102.5 and any station you'll notice it right away. Then again, I am a radio nerd, so maybe that's why I notice.

I'm manly talking about the old disgruntled CD102.5 listeners that stopped listening to the station
due to bad sound quality on 102.5 FM. I believe they will eventually be content with the new
x106.7 at CD1025 loss. Also, I wouldn't at all be surprised if x106.7 takes over CD1025 ratings within this calendar year, due impart to the bad sound quality of rival CD1025.

I'd love to see one of these two stations start adding more electronic music to their playlist...

Live105, the alternative station in San Fran, is beginning to blast Deadmau5, Skrillex, AVICII, Example, and several others alongside alt staples like Gotye, Foster The People, Black Keys, etc.

There's some decent early 2000s gold tracks from Fatboy, Moby, Crystal Method, Chemical Bros, and Wiseguys that you could throw in the mix as well to keep the pace or transition. If I remember correctly, those artists did perform fairly well at Alternative for a bit.

WNCI and Mix likely won't touch that stuff so it could be a nice competitive differentiator. Lol... throwing it out there. ;-)

Salem will probably hand WWCD's listeners over to x106.7 before year's end.

I could not agree more. I was visiting some friends of mine in the area and paid a listen to both stations. I ended up sticking with X because the sound quality was much better and it sounded like a professional radio station, unlike CD10whateverthehellitisnow, which sounded like some OSU hipster's iPod.
