If you miss the classic soul on 1090 WILD, check this out

Yup, have many airchecks of them. But XHRM is more AC than Star was. XHRM plays a lot more Classic R & B and Motwon while Star played more contemporary and disco stuff.

The original poster was actually drawing a comparison between Magic and Boston's AM 1090 WILD in its classic soul incarnation. But since you bring up Star 93-7, I checked out Magic on yes.com and I have to say that, although it does lean more to the R&B side so it's not quite a direct comparison, Magic is MUCH better focused musically than Star was for the latter part of its existence. Also, I noticed that Magic doesn't really play much Motown, didn't see hardly anything from the 60s.

Thanks to the original poster though for posting this though! Magic is one of the closest things I've seen to classic soul WILD.
