Yeah. In Hartford, Westerly, and Springfield Full-Power Radio just added FM repeaters to their AM Oldies/Classic Hits stations.

Problem is "thumping noises" have been the essence of pop music for at least 15 years now and that's what a lot of 18-34s still want to hear. It's a dumbed-down, rhythmic world out there, and we fuddy-duddies who long for "listenable music" with melody ain't part of it -- nor are we wanted by advertisers.
Doesn't do us any good in Eastern Mass.
The question was about the Boston Radio Dial....
I'm saying no Oldies on AM without an FM repeater. Get it now?
The older we get, the closer the mutual opinions of ourselves and the advertisers get.

The dialogue you mention was more likely from his stint on "The Louise Morgan Show" on (then) WNAC-TV Channel 7....
IIRC....he had a MUCH better RADIO news delivery.....![]()
Don't you mean, "The older we get, the further the mutual opinions of ourselves and the advertisers get"?
If that's not what you meant, then I'm confused.
No, I meant we the listeners don't want the advertisers, and as we get older, the advertisers want us less and less.
Are we not including Nielsen numbers? Net loss? Revenue? Because if I were to run the Boston dial, I would run it based on what makes money and what doesn't. Not what sounds good to me because I like that particular format and have never worked in the industry.
So, you would run all foreign language leased programming if it was proven to make the most money?
Boy...are you the skunk at the garden party! ;-) LOL
